My Henry is the All Weather big boy in 357mag and I just ordered some ammo from federal premium using the 170gr hammer down in 357mag to cycle through my rifle. If you happen to run across some yourself, please do a ballistic gel test to see what 170gr does? Powerful enough for deer I'm sure but is it enough power to down an elk? Let us know thanks!
@357 MAG Yes another beautiful rifle. Be aware of the Hornaday leverevolution 140gr flex tip (red) I had to get my 1st rifle replaced because of a squib load. Jhp, bhp, or semi Wad cutters are best to cycle. The flex point tumbled in mine while my 12 yr old at that time was firing it.. blew the whole top of barrel out and thank God my son wasn't injured. Anthony Imperado(owner of Henry) reached out to us and gave crucial information about that kind of ammunition. Didn't say what grain power to use except anything more than 125gr on up (manual) but only that particular one. Just a heads up, don't want to see anyone else have to go thru what we did and escape serious injury. Oh and Henry has an excellent reputation in customer service and guarantee on all their products. Was also told once you've found the best ammo and it's grain, stick with it. You and Rifle will be happy for decades. I absolutely love mine and I will probably get us another one in 30/30 for Elk hunts, bought the 357mag for the family and I to plink, protect, promote. Be safe and enjoy your beautiful rifle as well.
Just now viewing this video 😊
I also went and put one on layaway.. I'm hoping to get it for my birthday next month!
Great shooting brother 😊
PS.. the velocity for most factory 357 ammo is rated out of a six inch revolver.
Nice Henry rifle. I'm trying to find one like you have to go with my 357 Vaquero.
That would be a great combo!
