I find all of the tips you recommended working perfectly for me when I’m under 150lbs - then last year hormones and thyroid issues have slammed me with a 60lb weight gain- I’m fighting to break below 190 watching everything going in my mouth and though I’m very sedative.. doing all I can to move more
It happened to me too. I conquered it by three simple rules: 1. eat off a smaller plate, 2. three meals and no snacking, 3. avoid white foods (sugar, flour, pasta, rice). And don't forget that we all lose our hormones and thyroid, so we need to supplement them if we want to live long and healthily.

I live in Canada so we definitely know about cold winters here! I rarely wear dresses in the winter because it's just too cold to go bare-legged. If I ever do dress up in the winter, I don't worry about matching my coat to my dress, since the coat is the outer layer that I take off when I arrive at my destination anyway. We wear big winter parkas most of the winter, so function/warmth over fashion is the name of the game. I usually also swap my winter boots for heels when I get where I'm going, too. Just take them in a shoe bag and leave the boots at the coat check. I also opt for high boots to avoid snow and slush.
I love wearing dresses also. Yes length of coat needs to be longer than the dress! Ahh I add the boots too and just by trial and error that ankle boots work for me. Yes I love the crop jacket. I have learned the rule of thirds from you! And all about the horizontal line- thank you! And the longer boots I love the pointy toe boots do make a difference!

I'm a happy slightly tall-ish height but I still pay a lot of attention to proportions and I completely agree with you on the fabric peeking out point... it just isn't a good look. I wear skirts and dresses all year round and I live in an extremely cold climate.
Perfect! Recently purchased a few of the style of your white skirt and was looking especially what top to wear with those. I find them so pretty and feminine as they move with your movement. I have booties, boots but looking for nice top for them. Hoping u don’t look like a frumpy grandma at 5’3 wearing those at same time. Lol! But I do love them. Got three at Uniqlo in black, grey and purple and then at Target found on clearance in green which I live and brown. I’m full of skirts now until death do apart from my skirts. 🤦🏻♀️
I'm like you, I love my dresses and wear them as often as I can, so it's become a joke between my sister-in-law and me. She gives me a hard time on the rare occasions I show up for lunch in jeans. I end up wear short coats with my dresses in the winter because I am only 5ft tall and I have not found a long coat that isn't too long for me
