Hello everybody and welcome back to the channel, and welcome back to Sniper Elite 5, where today we will be looking at the evolution of killing Hitler in Sniper Elite games, through the levels Assassinate The Fuhrer, Hunt The Grey Wolf, Target Fuhrer, and Wolf Mountain.

The hitler mission in SE4 was so good, they recycled it for ZA4. The grenade in the soup is my favorite way to kill a target in the entire series.

The only cheesy part about SE5's rendition is that it is almost impossible in invasion. Loaded in to invasion, saw it was Wolf Mountain and the only thing I had to do by this point was to camp the tunnel and wait for the two players to finish their side tasks to just have the worst day of their life by repeatedly coming out of the tunnel as they always wanted a rematch. I think a secret passage around the tunnel would have been a nice addition to this level in terms of design as we already saw this sort of sneaky path in the first segment of the level.
Yeah, and if you invade a player who knows what they're doing (immediately stops going after objectives the second they're invaded), you often just get a standoff where Karl camps on one side of the tunnel and the invader camps on the other side, with both refusing to enter.
Because there isn't any other way around it, you just get a stalemate until one person gets fed up and runs to their death/quits. It really needed another way through, and not having one makes it the least fun invasion mission on the game, for me.
I genuinely don’t understand where they went wrong with se5s version, the concept of killing him in his personal holiday home is brilliant on paper but it just didn’t land.
SE4s version worked well because the secondary mission to destroy the sub base was actually worth doing because it added a sense of finality to the mission, but because you can start past the tunnel in se5s it feels like filler to destroy 2 AA guns when you can start right next to the target, kill him and just Leave.
Why do so many people feel this way? I personally think its the best one

My favorite Hitler kill is of course the testical shot because I'm a literal 2 year old
SE4's Hitler mission is by far the best one. The many unique opportunities to kill Hitler in that mission is arguably better than SE5 mainly cuz almost all of them are triggered by sniping.
