I love that you used this Chevy SIlverado with all the corrosian under the engine. It's more realistic than all the videos where people use pristine super clean vehicles that dont actually have a problem. This is truck is fighting a hard battle with life and definite the truck that would develope the leak. This is the first video of yours I've watched. I like the way you explain how the system works so that people will be better able to diagnose- you're teaching them how to think and the right midset so that they can find and fix other problems. I am hear because my silverado has a leak and this is the best i've found yet - Good job
On my 2006 Yukon Denali, I have power steering fluid gushing from those circular rings in the middle of the steering rack whenever I turn the steering wheel all the way to one side (4:35). It also makes a very loud and annoying screeching sound. Whenever I put power steering fluid in it, the loud noise will stop temporarily but it always comes back. Can I fix that issue any other way other than replacing the entire steering rack?
+James Evans Thank you for checking us out! It may be possible to fix this without replacing the entire rack, however we would recommend having it diagnosed to see if it would be worth it to try and piece it together or just swap the entire assembly out. 1aauto.com
Question my power steering is leaking from one of the lines in the back when I accelerate I hear a loud whining noise but it doesn’t make the noise when i turn the wheel what can it possibly be I wanna confirm before buying parts I don’t need to replace
Frothy definitely means a leak, having the same issues ! I only got 2 houses from my house before the pump started making that same noise! Poured some fluid in ,Frothy immediately cause the reservoir was completely empty! Only idled about 2 mins before I pulled off! And yes if the steering assistant comes back by turning the wheel the pump is good! But I don't think my leak is coming from the front I believe it's one of the lines underneath!!! But if anyone is having this issue ,go to your parts shop hand get BARRS power steering dual stop leak + fluid! Used it once and drove for about a good 6 months until it started happening again and used barrs twice within the last 2 months then switched it to a basic fluid and sure enough it drained out the next two days All this time I'm thinking my leak is coming from the oil cooler line !

That’s a rust bucket! That truck come out of a salt mine?
If it's a Chevy truck it's going leak power steering fluid.. if you buy a used one, might as well get lines and a pump. Lol

Get barrs, power steering stop leak !!!!
It's belt driven so it'll still do it when you give it gas.
Nice 👍
It was frothy because you just had it running.
