If ya drive a Mustang, the first thing someone will ask you is.. "Is it a manual or automatic?"..if ya say automatic, they always hang their head and say.."Oh..." LOL. Always, ALWAYS get the manual! 100 percent driving experience, and it dissuades thieves from stealing it 'cause thy can't drive one!
Haha! You said what I was quietly thinking about the stealability of this car. I drove a manual 'Stang GT in my college years in the U.S. and now am looking at one again here in Australia where at last they're selling them as right-hand drives since we drive on the left, and I did worry about its getting nicked but that voice inside my head said "modern thieves might find a manual too intimidating to drive" and you confirmed my suspicion. Thanks! I truly might just buy one soon. It is seductive in a way my 50something year old self is craving badly.
Great video. I agree 100%. Manual is definitely the way to go, in my opinion, even with the previous-gen S550. Like you said, manual is more engaging, and not just that, it’s more fun. Super easy to drive, so driving in traffic is really easy. This is coming from someone who had a 10-speed S550 GT for only a year and sold it because I got so bored with the auto. I eventually got an S550 GT with the manual, and the driving experience is so much better. I’m actually enjoying the car so much more. Also, with manual transmission cars being a dying breed, it’s definitely time to enjoy them.
I had a 2020 GT 10speed automatic and traded it in because it was boring to me after a while. Now I just got a 2024 GT manual and oh man I’m loving it! I’ve had a lot of manuals and I got to say this is one of the best. The clutch is a little heavy but the shifts are perfect. Enjoy
Thank you man for driving the car the way it’s meant to be driven, iv seen so many reviews on this car and very few will pull the car the way u did in the video. Such an amazing sound. Keep making videos about this car brother, im all here for it
That scrolling edit over the intro was sick af lol I've never seen that before. I'm trying to get a manual supra rn. I like the stang but I wanted my next car (coming from an ss1le camaro) to be a bit easier to tune.
Thanks lol I haven’t gotten the chance to drive the Supra yet, but I really want to. It’s definitely a good looking car and those that have them seem to love them for the most part. The 2018-2023 mustangs have full tune support if you’re into them. The 2024s we’ll have to wait and see. Hope you get your next ride and love it! Thanks for subscribing!
Mannn that’s a TOUGH choice. I haven’t driven an M2 yet, but from the looks of it it’s a great drivers car. Surely better than GT I’d assume, but would be more comparable to the Dark Horse
Agreed about manual even though my wife says “what about the gas mileage?” IUKUK. I want to drive the car and I have had a 2017 Camaro and 19 Challenger. This, by far, is my favorite.
I currently own a 2014 GT auto, and have been thinking of getting a 2024 GT manual. Whats been holding me back is that MT-82 transmission. Seems like you dont have many problems with it though.
Its not just the Getreg MT-82, it's also the gear ratios which are widely spaced from 1 through 4 with 5 and 6 being overdrive gears. The 10R80 easily pulls away from the manual, not just becaue of the fast shifts by also because of the much shorter individual gears from 1 theough 7. For the price Ford is charging for the 2024 Mustang they should have included the Tremec on the GT along with proper gearing like they did on the Mach 1 and Dark Horse.
I want the manual for the GT because right now I’m in the market for a 2024 but I’m kinda wanting the dark horse because of the tremec vs the MT82 and I keep seeing people seeing that higher rpm shifts the MT lockouts out or is harder to get into gear but I didn’t know about this until I started looking. Now I would be happy with a GT premium performance pack one because idk why a mustang wouldn’t come factory with brembos but I’m used to it as my STI came factory with 6 pot brembos and I love how they perform.
The tremec in the DH is 100% a better trans and I haven’t even driven it yet. There’s plenty of people who have that would recommend it over the MT82. I think for most people, the MT82 is fine. It’s still a fun car to drive and is improved from the previous gen. It’s not perfect, but it’s better. I myself would like a DH, but they’re really expensive right now lol. If you want the BEST performance, the DH is the way to go, but this the GT premium is still a VERY fun car if you ask me and I’d still be happy with it. Thanks for watching!
@@wheeldmedia yeah I think I’m going to skip the dark horse and I just looked at a 24 GT premium with the Brembos and manual and it’s a very nice car but I’m still thinking about it but I think I’m going with manual though

That said, there’s a lot of potentially better options for that range of price, so unless you’re not planning on owning it long term or just have money to piss away , maybe go for something else.
There’s definitely a ton of cars in that price range. I think because of how scarce sports cars are becoming, people are gonna buy whatever they want the most, even if it isn’t quite justifiable lol I love the Dark Horse and will definitely consider one when it’s time for me to buy. Hope you enjoy yours and thanks for watching!

The MT-82 is just embarassing, i'd rather drive automatic. You should not gain over half a second in the 1/4 just by swapping to an auto. If it came with a Tremec or a swapped T-56 i'd run it all day but no MT-82
While agree that MT-82 isn’t the best trans ever, gaining a half second by swapping to an auto sounds believable to me. Going fast on a strip is definitely done with an auto. Human error in a manual can easily result in half a second slower time
@@wheeldmedia it's not human error, it's just the transmission being fragile and locking you out of shifting quickly, it's why the mt-82 loses to Camaros and scat packs and the 10 speed auto walks away like cheat codes
That’s completely understandable and a pretty good rule of thumb. You would hope that with this model being heavily based off the previous generation that it wouldn’t have so many issues. However ive worked in the automotive industry for quite a long time now so I know that can be wishful thinking lol

Well, plenty of people lol there’s definitely a huge market for auto mustangs. They outsell the manual by a country mile and hold better resale and trade values. For people who actually wanna race it, it’s probably the better option in most scenarios if you wanna be fast lol but for fun, I’d personally take the manual
Can we stop romanticizing manuals already? It's a more difficult way to drive slower. I live in a city, there is absolutely 0 benefit to driving a manual. Stop telling everyone to buy a manual, it doesn't even make sense for everyone to do so and it doesn't give you ANY benefit other than "less likely to be stolen".
“Benefits” are as subjective as your opinion and mine lol. I’ve never heard of anyone buying a manual for its benefits. Secondly, anyone who loves driving manual cars KNOWS that you do not buy them because they’re faster. You cannot outshift an auto, ESPECIALLY the 10 speed. This entire review I talk about engagement and fun, which are the main reasons I personally would buy a manual. You live in a city, so a manual probably wouldn’t be the best decision for YOU. But that’s not the case for me and many other people. This mainly for people who are on the fence or are worried about the MT82. I never said it was for everyone because I don’t think it is. But i stand by everything I said. This video is an opinion lol lighten up. P.S. - I think manuals are still more fun. So buy the manual, or don’t. 😉
I understand completely. If ultimate performance is the goal, I wouldn’t say the MT82 is the way to go. That said, it’s still really fun to drive and for most people, it’s enough. If you wanna go fast in a straight line, 10 speed fahso

Who in their right mind would buy an automatic Mustang?
Can't get on board with the MT-82. It's just garbage and the 10 speed will hand your ass to you. Extremely MEH. A Tremec, I can get it.
I understand completely. If ultimate performance is the goal, I wouldn’t say the MT82 is the way to go. That said, it’s still really fun to drive and for most people, it’s enough. If you wanna go fast in a straight line, 10 speed fahso
Where did you learn to drive manual 😔
Seemed fine to me lol
he's not banging gears carelessly, he treats it with care
@@wheeldmedia lmao no I was legitimately asking where did you learn to drive manual. Sorry if I came off as rude. I just wish I knew how to drive manual transmission that’s all 💀
@@shaunprettypaul I know I know. I legitimately don’t know how to drive manual. I was asking where did he learn for real. Sorry
@@JudeDude409 all good bro, sorry for the misunderstanding. most people learn simply from watching others do it, and practicing it if they are fortunate enough to have access to a manual transmission vehicle. i hope you have the opportunity to learn; it's a neat skill to pick up.
wrong. the MT-82 sucks...
Ok lol
S650 is a dud and the 6 speed is still garbage especially compared to the dork horse tremec 6 speed.
Welp. Everyone has an opinion. Thanks for watching!
