Man this is awesome!I recently purchased a 2016 GT 6 speed manual two days ago without knowing how to drive manual and let me tell you this video could have not come at a better time😂😂. This style format with the foot cam is a great reference for someone who is new to driving manual. Keep up the good work I watched a lot of your vids before I made my purchase.
Thank you for this video. I've been watching you're videos once I got my first manual Mustang. This is what I've been needing that I wish was out when I first got my car. If I need to teach someone how to drive a manual I would use this. Keep them coming.
I’m glad I’m able to see that you being more experienced than me at manual don’t feel the need to shift into gear as quickly as possible when the light goes green. Makes me feel a little less pressure from all the cars behind me waiting to go at lights and I’m at the very front lol
Even though I have driven a manual for over a decade and I know how to rev-match, this is the only video that shows learning it with a 500rpm baseline. I think that addition will make a big difference for someone. For some reason when I was learning it, I thought you had to add more gas for every gear you go down. Great teaching.
This was great help I’m soon to buying my first mustang and I was considering getting one with a manual transmission but I’ve never driven a manual before
😂😂 “drop two gears and disappear 😅” love the content my boy ! I learned how to drive a manual turbo camaro… I got a mustang gt as my first car soon to be gen 3 coyote t56 manual 🤝🏽
Bro I’m back 5 months later Manuel was the best thing to ever happen to me I’m finally understanding EVEYDTHING you are saying bro. Thank you so much for this video. I also learned in a mustang so this video is perfect
Best downshift video out here. FInally got my first manual Acura TL and it scares the shit outta me to downshift so I've been just putting in neutral without downshifting.
Fan from your cod channel bro man this is so freaking awesome to see you got a full mustang channel mannn💯 I'm looking for a rev match/ down shift so when I do get me a manual vehicle I'll know what to look forward to & how to. Man I can watch you do videos like this a day just watching you drive man lol hopefully one day I'll have me a 03 svt terminator mustang cobra & come challenge you having a good time shid I'm next door in Louisiana. But yeah bro it'll be awesome to see just do daily drives with the foot cam to helps us out.
My 2024 mustang gt 5.0 has active rev matching. I didn't think id like it but i actually love it. Haven't taken it to the track yet though. But its good for driving it around town. And the thing i absolutely love about it. Is that its the first year where it has the screens for the CENTER AND DASHBOARD! Its so clean. I can't believe it took them this long to do it!
Man I have a 2018 GT350 and hadn't got the hang of rev matching but I am gonna practice tomorrow for sure and I've had my car since 2019. Good video man thx and nice car.
I'm going to be buying a Civic Type R here in the upcoming weeks and this guide is so helpful. I know rev matching to get into 1st there's no point to but so far rev matching to me seems easier than regular down shifting
Awesome video, man! Also, I love the sound of the voodoo with those downshifts 🔥 have you ever thought about getting the digital cluster gauges for the 350?
For rev match downshift, I noticed that when you release the clutch into gear, you hold the clutch at its bite point to make sure it goes into gear smoothly without rev matching it, but not only that. You did that just to see where the speed and the rpm would meet, so you can kinda see how much rpm you would need to rev to match the speed into gear next time and get a feel for it, correct? I wanna make sure I’m seeing the vision right bro 😂
It is frustrating. I was failing at downshift rev match yesterday. Slept on it and was managing it today. Still need alot of work but it is satisfying when you pull it off.
I’ve driven manual multiple times before but never owned one personally and I’m debating on getting a manual to replace my daily. I think my biggest takeaway from this video is seeing that you’re not hitting the brake pedal every single time to slow down and downshift. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong but I guess it’s just knowing when to engine brake and when to utilize all 3 pedals? Also great advice with the 500rpm-1000rpm blip range. Most instructional videos just say what to do but don’t mention how much gas to actually give it when rev matching. Thanks again 🤝🏾
thanks for the video man. I'm slowly absorbing as much info as i can because i currently have an auto ecoboost and i want to trade it in for a manual gt. This looks really fun even though ur in a little bit of traffic lol.
Question. I’m a newbie manual driver. Is the only point of downshifting just in case you needa move around quickly? Also is it ideal to do so when coming to a stop?
2 part question from a beginner. When your "rev matching" you are trying to keep the rpm at the same level when you down shift? And second does it matter where in the rpm range you down shift from? Love the videos. Gonna save this video for when i get my gt350 and practice! Keep it up ears!
1. Yes 2. Yes it does. If you’re too high in the RPM you obviously don’t want to downshift close to the rev limit. If you are low in the RPM you want to rev match up to the point where you aren’t going too low for the gear you are in. Sounds confusing but go 30 in 5th gear you’ll know/feel what I mean!
Just got my gt, it’s tough feeling out the speeds for shifts, I’m really just shifting on random ass rpm’s right now 😂…practicing everyday though, man them downshifts are tough too, thought it was more of a specific rpm for each downshift but it’s really more feel, the blip thing is new to me, so is coming to a stop in neutral without holding full clutch out, I was told coming to a stop in neutral holding clutch wouldn’t be bad because the clutch isn’t grinding when it’s fully opened up, but idk
The "500 rpm blip" is good for close gear ratios like his gt350 or pre 2019 gt model years. The revised MT82-D4 has taller gears, so you can't really just blip 500 RPMs like in the older cars. Each gear is spaced out much further and requires different RPM blips depending on speed and what gear you're in. Ford messed up when they redid the gearing on the "newer" mustangs
Should I just go buy a manual type r an learn with that car always wanted one just scared to stall a bunch an break the clutch I’ve got like 3 hours max driving manual an I can shift up an some what shift down an sometimes stall when stopped what y’all think 🤔
this is what i do on motorcycles. I also shift on motorcycles without the clutch un heavy heavy load ... can u do that in a car as well ? (clutchless shifting)
Wait, so when could you NOT apply the clutch when coming to a stop? I dont need to apply the clutch when coming to a stop and if I’m leaving in a gear? Sorry, I havent driven a manual yet and I’m still trying to understand the science of it.
Dude taught me how to get good at cod in bo4 and now the mans teaching me how to drive manual W Ears
Glad I could help!
This is the best down shift video on TH-cam. I've been trying to learn how to down shift for awhile now and never knew you don't rev match 1st lol 😅
Happy to help! You can but really no point tbh
You can like if you're turning into a parking lot to smoothly shift into first but don't do it for like performance driving.
15:07 pretty much learned stickshift playing Forza using a sim wheel and shifter along time ago
I believe it lol
Also believe it
Def helps for just understanding how shifting works but bite point on clutch is something only feeling can help with
Who els is watching this that already dailies a manual? 😂
Right here I just love watching others drive a stick shift vehicle as it's one of my weird hobbies. I really enjoy it lmfao

bouta get one on saturday never driven one before imma have to get home from the dealership tho wish me luck😭
@@miguelll__ u can literally learn how to drive it in 10 minutes lmao. And are u getting a gt350 or a diffrwnt car?

Jacksonville?
I’m thinking of buying a manual car instead of a automatic it looks easy
The video weve all been waiting for dudes got the best down shifts Ive ever seen in my life
You ain't seen many downshifts lol
Bought my first manual 17gt still learning how to drive it and these videos help so much
I am learning/learned in my 17 shelby gt350 lol
Nice. Was it easy?
One of the best rev match tutorials I've ever seen! Well done, young man.
Very informative video for those youngins learning how to properly downshift 👌🏼
Bro just made it even more suspicious by immediately dipping after he saw the officer lol
ive been searching for a video that explains and shows the throttle response in the video this clearly for years! great video👍
This man works fast the comment from yesterday lead to this video that’s crazy
I was planning on making this before that comment! 😎

Yea no one would be mad when they know manual is just different than auto.
@@Sy3dz99 but the thing is most drivers in America can’t tell an auto from a manual by how it behaves when driving lol

Appreciate that!
You do, but 3-6 are generally close enough to do 500 or whatever in your car. 3-2nd is the big jump, just depends what your gears look like
This was great help I’m soon to buying my first mustang and I was considering getting one with a manual transmission but I’ve never driven a manual before

Will do!

Should I buy a manual car as my first car? Currently watching a lot of videos on how to drive manual so I could have “experience”
Yes best thing to do is
So smooth with it
How do I get to a parking lot if I don't know how to drive a Manual? Great video!
Have someone who does and trusts you to practice on their car take you there!
I really enjoyed the video
Bro is driving my dream
Excellent
When you rev match do you always do a 500 rpm blip? And is it 500 rpm’s from the rpm’s your at in the gear you were at previously?
Liked so I can come back after I pick up my 2013 GT premium
Question. I’m a newbie manual driver. Is the only point of downshifting just in case you needa move around quickly? Also is it ideal to do so when coming to a stop?
Are those Stefan janoski Nike SB’s?
Yea

Great video brother! but my you dont just dump the clutch when downshifting i do it on s197 gt and its smooth dumping it
Buying a manual car and I never drove manual. This is my study time
luv your channel....your 350 is badd!
Thanks! 🙏
3->2 downshift is so hard for me. Sometimes i over rev it and then othertimes i under rev it.
Is it bad to put it in neutral from 3rd instead of second? Or is it better to go to 2nd
Looking at a Jetta manual might just buy the car and learn any thoughts?
How do I find a parking lot or safe space to practice without going out on the street ?
gotta warm tires up mane
Does it matter when you downshift? Are you waiting on it to hit like 2k rpm before you start rev matching?
Yea you don’t wanna blow your transmission downshifting at a high rpm. 👌🏾
@@gooduplead2248 so does it matter on your car on when you should?

It should be very easy for you to
this is what i do on motorcycles.
I also shift on motorcycles without the clutch un heavy heavy load ... can u do that in a car as well ? (clutchless shifting)
No unless you everything setup for that
So you can rev match up shift? When you used your turn signal towards the end, and talked about passing traffic. Is that correct?
The calculator screen in a gt350 is diabolical
doesn't bother me haha
lol why did it take me 15mins to finally understand 😅 "thanks man" my slow ass finna give it a try with a 1995 bmw 325i
Serious question no BS, when down shifting you clutch rev down shift all at the same time ?
Yes
I literally tried it this morning and bro it worked 🫡 I thought it was going to jerk but it was just fine THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
if i’m low enough in rpms and, for example, i want to downshift 2 gears, couldn’t i just go from 6th straight to 4th skipping 5th?
Keep up the good work, man. What kind of shoes are those? 😂
Thanks! Nike Janoski!
I ride bikes maybe I'm thinking to much into it. It's the different placement of the clutch and shifter that's messing me up.
