      Beware of the temptation to idealize, this is a dangerous slope. But the video is truly an amazing and clear vulgarization of many books written on the topic. She is 10/10 on putting this all together in a digestible format if less than 30 minutes.

    The hardest part for me to let go was a feeling that i felt like a burden by my parents. And i was loved for what i could provide for. I started disliking my success and intelligence, believing that i was only loved for that, meaning inherently that i was not loved. Took me a long time to let go.

    this is very accurate, its a journey of going thru doors; denial, powerlessness, victim, blame, awareness, understanding, self pity, sadness, anger, acceptance, rumination, confusion, fear, courage, empowerment, sadness, understanding, surrender, peace, love, letting go, forgiveness. that is the order they happened to me.

    Guide questions for situations that make you feel like a victim - 14:08
    1. How am I a match to this based on previous circumstances?
    2. What am I meant to learn from this?
    3. What is this pain causing me to know what I want?
    4. What positive things have come from or could come from this situation?
    5. What can I do here and now to change things for the better?
    6. What do I now know to do differently in the future?

    T-h-e MOST Socially Constructive and Beneficial talk from Teal yet. This one is heads and shoulders above all the others.
    About a decade ago, I had to deal with this association that blame has with responsibility. I found myself dwelling way too much over an emotional injury that had been inflicted on me, and I realized that I needed to get past it--and get past it on my own, since those who injured me were never going to be able to pay their debt to me. But, when I started thinking of taking responsibility for my own happiness, I caught myself resisting it--out of a sense that I would also be taking the blame. And, I realized that associating blame with responsibility in that way was a trap--one that I would have to get past in order to be empowered and stop dwelling on an injustice that could never be put right. Since then, I've seen many trapped in that place, expecting pay back from someone that would never be able to put things right. I haven't forgotten my injury, but I'm no longer trapped in scars. Others shouldn't have to suffer the same fate.

    • @KarmicBeats
      @KarmicBeats 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +TesserId Yes it is very difficult to deal with injustice that will not be put right. It i easy to know all the things you should do, but really doing them can be pretty tough!

    • @TesserId
      @TesserId 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Karmic Beats, Indeed, and there are those that we didn't know were in us. And, what a curiosity when they show up. One blink, and I might have missed this fear of accepting blame that wasn't mine to accept. And, that's just one example. Looking inward, spending time in the shadows within us, gives us those opportunities. And, yes, it's the tougher things the bring out the most surprising things, as well as the most useful ones. Thanks for the comment.

    You are very brave in telling the hard truth about the victimhood and responsibility. Most of the people say soft words, making people comfortable on their egoistic view of the world of "I deserve it all and if I'm not, it is not my problem, because I'm special". The point is that doesn't exist freedom without responsibility.

    Wow! This is me right here right now! So this is just a loving tap on the shoulder saying yes you recognize you are waking up to your actual path … stay tuned to shaking off what ever has stopped you from getting here before. I am bumping into them on a daily basis I am already noticing these on an hourly basis. Even getting a coffee … I can see it when it’s okay and when it’s just auto self sabotaging escapism.

    Teal, I just want to let you know that I just met my sister for the first time in my life, she is 3 years older than I and I am 46. She came up from Houston today to meet me finally because she said she had to meet me. At the end of the evening, I have learned some things that I didn't expect to learn, some would say that I learned some very bad things about my father who has been dead for about a year and a half. Anyway, she is sleeping now on my bed and I just played this whole wonderful video and teaching lesson for her to hear in her sleep, to help her and me I guess. You have made a difference, again, in my life and your abilities are being used by me, thank you.

    I've had synchronicities all weekend, and now...I tune in and see your newest upload. Completely spot on with what I've been dealing with this weekend and so in-tune and well timed it brought me to tears. Thank you, Teal. Your words make so much more sense than mine when I try to explain/understand these things. I'm a survivor of child sexual abuse and the self-blaming, its so real. It does feel better when I do it, but those around me do not respond how I expect when I take responsibility. They think I'm freaking out or just trying to get people to feel sorry for me but, it really does make me feel in control. I often feel, "If I go ahead and bear responsibility, then there will be no wasting time on deciding who's to blame, and a resolution will come faster". Teal, going into the shadows is very hard, but I'm seeing things about myself I never knew, how this victim mentality and other negativity attaches in places you often overlook, because it shows up underneath where you feel you are "strong".

  • @TeaandLaceJournals
    @TeaandLaceJournals 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree with the others who posted that it took incredible bravery to post this hard truth! This is equivalent to telling the world that our planet is round when we all thought it was flat. I have personally been through this ‘awakening’/crisis and it was indeed very painful.
    However, there is NO GOING BACK. You cannot unsee this wisdom and truth once it reveals itself in your life. It is the biggest change you can make in order to be truly empowered in yourself.and yet it comes at the price of letting go of a major security blanket of the ego. I can only describe the ensuing feeling as a feeling of falling.
    Also, I want to comment on those that disagree that the world favors victim hood. It absolutely does and as Teal said- up to a point only! Then people get tired of it. I see this both on macro (societal levels with social issues) and also on micro levels concerning myself and my own personal life. I’ve seen too many examples to list here. Mainly, in my personal life -when I was still blind to it-it was a way to get connection and attention. but victimhood can also be used as a form of manipulation to getting what you want and also for demonizing others so as to make oneself superior.
    I have been saying to people over the last few years that I’ve been going through THE SHIFT and I feel like I’m still in the gap of leaping to the other side. It is lonely and terrifying and yet the most empowering time of my life.
    Side note:
    I’ve noticed that when I talk about some of the painful things I’ve been through and then I also talk about how “I can See clearly where I played my part and that it is EMPOWERING to see it because then I can grow, etc” MOST people try to minimize it for me and clearly misunderstand me as blaming myself. This occurs no matter how clear I am in stating that I am not blaming myself etc. this was a big eye opener to me that those people are not at all ready to digest this information on their own personal level because if they minimize it “for me” they won’t have to see that it is also true in their own lives.

    Taking responsibility is hard because being the creator as a human being, is like having superpowers which you don't quite know how to control or trying to hold a force within you that you can't contain. That's why being the victim seems like it is providing a way out for me sometimes. So much power and not exactly knowing what I'm doing with it is overwhelming. And realising that you have such power is scary! I am at awe; reducing ourselves down to the clumsy human beings we are, and probably trying to see just what we'd do with so much power without even understanding the first thing about it! Oh, yeah; well let's see how it works out... It's no wonder we are self-destructive. I obviously still don't get how it all works... Thanks for the video. It's wonderful. It is helpful and calming..

    I agree with most, but I still think there is a difference between 'forgiving' human unconsciousness and 'approving' of something heinous/inhumane'unwanted. It's very popular to 'forgive human unconsciousness' at present (see Eckhart Tolle for much of this) and from a more evolved point or as Teal mentioned, panning out on a situation and one is able to recognise the benefits of previously unwanted contrast -seeing how it has made you a stronger/more awake/aware person etc. Thich Nhat Hanh also says "no mud, no Lotus'- we see the necessary contrast as needed for growth. BUT that doesn't mean I need to say "thank you so much for trying to abuse me- i totally approve of that -no - your choices and behaviour were heinous and wrong and I will not say it is okay or approve of it - but I have benefited from the growth contrast has afforded.

    • @phlosys
      @phlosys 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      There is a difference between "approval" vs "advocation" . Teal is referring to "being in the space of approval" not for you to outwardly advocate the heinous/inhumane act . She describes it as the final step necessary to be free as an inner movement. To truly be inwardly free. You have to be responsible to yourself with inner honesty so much that you neutralize the duality the inner victim trauma creates and allow the energy that was upholding it to truly dissipate, releasing you. It is a relentless act of inner freedom.

      I liked how she said "approve" because, well, it just resonated with me. Like, "I approve of that experience" (Because after all I did come in to this life chosing thay exerience).I still make not like it, I may not appreciate it or maybe not even forgive the person but rather I release all connection to that event/person and At the same time its not regret. I find "approve" to be a much more neutral word than "forgive" or "appreciate". Its like "accept" but without the victim aspect.

      ***** I found the philosophy behind mgtow to be very helpful inoculating myself against future shitty relationships, it's where guys shed some light on female nature within gynocentrism. Check out the red pill movie by cassie jaye.

    Hey guys can some of you spiritual people help me out. I see what Teal says about not having to work but right now I am unemployed and starving. Literally haven't ate in a couple days. I am at a library computer right now watching this. That's how I spend most of my time honestly, at the library. Sometimes I apply for jobs but the only ones that call back are ones that would make me hate doing them. I don't have much and don't really see how much longer I can last. I'm trying to follow my dreams but it's very hard to at the moment. I don't want a handout or people to feel sorry for me. It's just that I've waited half a year for things to come to fruition and the universe really done much to help. I just want to now how her advice applies to me. That's all.

    Thank you for this video even though it is from 6 years ago! My mom wants me to give her a detailed description of what I want to do with my future. The problem is that I keep changing my mind so it is scary to do anything major. I will take your advice and take one step at a time and see where I end up.

    This episode really hit me mentally in a place i didn't know I had, the truth is i do feel like a victim and my procrastination is a result of a timidness to commit. I'm also really intrigued by this potential book of Teal's it sounds like powerful transmutation is possible with forgiveness, ha ha typing that just now it feels so obvious it's kind of silly :)

    Hi Teal, I wanted to comment about how we switch from the circular negative thoughts like blaming and despair, to gratitude. I find the switch impossible. Like a little kid, all upset, being force to apologize to a brother or sister... He Doesn't really, Feel, sorrow. And so it is with us, we can't really feel gratitude when we are upset, and blaming. What I've found with myself, is that all we have to do, is consciously 'forgive ourselves for not being who we (supposedly) wished we were, living he life we wish we had.' I think that is a key transitional statement, from which we can then turn to things we can truly feel gratitude towards. :-) Namaste
