A great video about the lack of glamour in being a news reporter, combined with the frustrations many of us feel in not being able to make a difference but trying anyway.
The production costs have gone up but the writing is just as good as always - perfect. More informative and funny than anything the BBC are doing about any serious issues faced today.
This is just so absolutely top gear right now. I love how they purposefully screw up and act all funny to actually draw you into it. You don’t get many other countries doing it like this.

It's futile. But that doesn't necessarily have to be depressing I think is the message. Just keep on trucking along doing your best, can't do much else.
It is futile, but Pie (as a character) is an angry man. An angry, angry man. And anger can translate into "fuck the odds" attitude - which is what I think they were going for in that ending.
Deep down his character cares, possibly too much that no matter how cynical he gets, he wants to make that difference. He's angry with the hypocrisy of it all, that's his underlying schtick - but ultimately, he does what he can, as a hypocrite himself perhaps. I think the last scene is the 'real' him (or those of us) just getting on doing what he/we can outside of doing it for the show of it. As always, hilarious but also a stark real message. Clever comedy!
@@Gstrangeman96 hmmmmm that's interesting, doesn't surprise me though. And it makes me sad because where I live places like these are filled in and built on as fast as possible. I don’t get it, please explain. ☹️
NICTATOR for all our daily outbreaks and frustrations, the closer we get to the potential consequences of our actions, the more we’ll stand up. Consider the difference in attitude if you were to remove meat from packaging to taking the knife yourself to the throat of the future making of a sandwich. It matters. We’d be less cruel if our empathy was more advanced and forward thinking but let’s work with what we got
@@damien884 That's a lot to extrapolate from a few words.
Sun Jara agreed
@@KyrstOak Agreed :). I think it was the maritime version of "SQUIRL !" :'D
Watching Jonathan squeeze into that wetsuit was absolutely hilarious!
A great video about the lack of glamour in being a news reporter, combined with the frustrations many of us feel in not being able to make a difference but trying anyway.
Love the anticipation of the rant
These longer TV show style things are spot on amazing. Please keep doing more Tom!
EFFING SPOT-ON AND STUNNINGLY FILMED. THANKYOU.
The production costs have gone up but the writing is just as good as always - perfect. More informative and funny than anything the BBC are doing about any serious issues faced today.
"The humble muscle" is what my wife calls my wedding tackle.
lmao
I'm dead. That was hilarious.
does she suck the carbon in?
It's a hydraulic wonder my friend.
you're wife calls my toger 'the electric eel'
Hilarious, interesting and what a powerful finish. Wonderful work Mr Pie. The hanging off the boat scene really hit close to home. Thank you.
Always with a solid slug of truth and humor in the gut! Imagine a full length documentary...Pie Style? I'd crowd fund that 🤘
This is just so absolutely top gear right now. I love how they purposefully screw up and act all funny to actually draw you into it. You don’t get many other countries doing it like this.
I thought the last scene would be him walking along picking up trash and bawling his eyes out over the seeming utter futility of it all.
I...honestly felt the same way. I guess it might have to do with how the video resonated with us.
It's like trying to re-stack a row of dominoes as you watch the rest of them tumbling.
Your comment reminded me of a PSA (Public Service Announcement) that used to be played on American television back in the 1970s: th-cam.com/video/uGu4AwL5Kho/w-d-xo.html
This is the future of journalism. Just don't let it get too mainstream or it'll miss it's point of being edgy.
This was amazing Pie
Also learned that seaweed and mussels store carbon :)
Agreed this was legitimately informative as well as amusing.
All life in earth is based on the carbon molecule, so anything that is alive and growing will capture carbon.
Carbon based life is made of carbon omg who knew
The structure of everything alive is made of carbon. The most efficient thing that captures carbon is peatland, glorified treeless swamps.
@@Gstrangeman96 hmmmmm that's interesting, doesn't surprise me though. And it makes me sad because where I live places like these are filled in and built on as fast as possible. And then when the floods come and destroy the houses they just rebuild but put cement culverts in so the water just rushes out to sea instead of sinking into the land and keeping it hydrated. Oh well house prices are booming these days better build build build! 😑
I would love for this to be a weekly mock news show on Netflix
Pie, literally getting in the sea.
Genius 👍
Bit like Top Gears Semen episode
@@nick000002 not seen it, I'm not a petrol head 👍
Brilliantly sums up how many/most people feel about the climate emergency. Great work as ever.
This short video is absolutely brilliant. Serious subject handled with proper outrage but with the utter frustration we all feel. Go Pie!
Something about this reminded me of the blackadder when they went "over the top"
Poor Franny. Well at least Tim got a break.
Jesus Christ Sandra, he's *literally* saving the planet!
Simply the best show on TH-cam.
A superb piece of work! These videos just keep getting better and better.
Absolutely brilliant! Comical but educational at the same time. I never knew about mussels, seaweed and CO2 connection.
the part about cows seems a bit suspect tho
@@84C4 Mostly in that cows don't fart much methane - it is predominantly belches. Ruminants, eh?
@Jonathan Pie I love it! Thanks for a wonderful show.
Best thought provoking laugh I've had in quite some time. Been ages since I laughed that hard, or thought about what the fuck I can actually do to help. Thanks Pie...
Hey Jonathan. Great stuff! I am a seaweed farmer in Cornwall!! Love this. So funny.....
Thank you Tom. I,m loving this development of the entire "concept".
Laughing and crying. Thank you. Hits home so well.
This was excellent!
Hope for a longer series... need more!
If Pie isn't careful he'll wind up on commercial TV because some people foolishly think that's where effective communicators are needed. Love your work mate!!
My expectations from Pie have been completely blown up. This is genius. To reiterate: Genius!
This is a choking hazard if watched whilst eating tea!! Bloody brilliant slice of Pie!!
