I done 30 years full time operational and we never had to get kit on before we turned out. We would have been out of the doors in half that time. We would get fire kit on as we were on the way to an incident. Health and safety!!!

​@@NathanPomfretIn 30 years you never got caught on the crapper? There could be a dozen reasons for the slight delay so you're just bullshitting for the sake of it. In my day....blah blah. I did my full service on ops but just on the odd occasion there was that slight delay caused by anything from the mundane to the ridiculous such as drill which is something you obviously never did or even the OIC doing the petty cash check and having to put it all back in the safe and secure it. Your memories are obviously very selective.

No rear reds or blues. No grill lights either! Why?

They have 3 different switches one for headlight flashers, one for the rotators on the roof and one for the grill and rear blues sometimes on some calls the driver doesn’t hit all the switches because they are in a rush.

Separate buttons, probably turned out in a rush. Works fine either way - London fire brigade, every fire brigade actually, used to just have the 2 blue rotators, 1 or 2 flashers on the front and that was it.

Those Volvo's are looking dated now the beacons on top do not stand out that well they are a pale blue colour.But nice grill strobes though, l live in Rochdale l have seen the newer Volvo's with strobe light bars and strobe grill and rear flashers much better.
