Remembering that Guy and Thomas met each other in middle school and have stuck together this long makes that hug seem a lot more emotional than it needs to be
So many feels... (':
I love that Daft Punk features and works with so many different artists. It shows that Daft Punk's not in it for fame or money. It's all about making the best music possible. They don't mind sharing the spotlight. They'll work with anyone and everyone if it makes the music better.

Crowley9 I have to agree with you welcome our new robot overlords of music
Crowley9 Imagine them ruling the world and they would have all their music playing at all times, oh wait that already exists it called heaven
HAIL ANTS
I understand that Reference!!!!
That tight shaking robot hug was so wholesome :(
My heart melts seeing them hug, it really showed how much this meant to them and what good friends they were
when Daft Punk's hug lasts longer than Tay's relationship
Dangerous Dafter roasted!.. in the oven.. for 30 minutes
Dangerous Dafter: That's real friendship for you. :) It lasts forever.
best damn comment award goes to? this guy right here!!!
This is the best comment on TH-cam
Not even funny
Dose anybody else think they were crying under those masks?
The taller one - a lot, the second - not at all (and I liked infinitely more his reaction).
***** The tall one is thomas bangalter and the short one is guy-manuel

Well, for me they are two robots. After all, it is how they want me to see them, aren't they?
pretty true
I want them to know how much I truly love them... I grew up with them!!!
I own EVERY main album they've released on vinyl!
That hug, damn... it made it even more emotional after knowing they said goodbye with “Epilogue”
They both hugged and be like:
We've won the world my friend
😭🫂
And they retired in 2021 sad
AHHHHHH 😭
1:54 Thomas tried to shake Pharrell’s hand.... :’(
Poor Thomas
I know how it feels that happens to me every time lol :"c
Good thing robots don't feel embarrassment
It’s all good doe😁
@@rahulsinha9515 too bad they are human after all :,(
That hug, that’s what we all need to see right now... it’s beyond friendship or love that hug...
So sad to see them split up, but knowing what they were able to achieve in the general music market as EDM artists was amazing. Farewell robots, you’ve earned it.
I don't think they split up. That's just mainstream news clickbait. They just simply retired.
I had a similar thought to what you said. Their music has transcended EDM and is loved by fans Around The World who would otherwise never listen to electronic music.
@@fireflymiesumae reread my comment smh
@@docbrown2020 i am glad they just retired and didnt had a fight or something

0:54 I LOVE THAT MOMENT
Kendrick looked pissed the whole time lol
+Homie Heist because he knew he wasn't going to get it. both Macklemore and Kendrick's album were on Rap AOTY and that award went to Macklemore so he obviously knew it wasnt going to happen.
If Daft Punk is up there, you're definitely not winning.
This guy knows what's up ^
And then TPAB (surely the greatest rap album this decade) loses out to Taylor Swifts album this year...
Just look at his left eye at 0:54, he's ready to choke someone.
That hug they shared is fucking everything. We love you Daft Punk and always will. May you find happiness on the paths you take from here on out. Daft Punk forever.
It just makes me happy to see two robots hugging each other with emotion c':
thank you daft punk ❤️
Paul Mccartney standing up cheering is just fantastic
They knew this was the last one...that hug says much more than what it seems.
They're done with that.
They knew 7 years ago?
@@iamlegend5373 i mean they haven't dropped music for years so prolly
@@illshooterrr Not necessarily. There have been plenty of rumors and outright statements from people close to Daft Punk that they've been in and out of the studio since 2013. It's likely they've been experimenting and trying to come up with a new style that want to make an album with but just couldn't figure it out. So after seven years of trial and error, and being both fifty years old, decided to call it.
@@illshooterrr they’ve been definitely producing with other artists, such as the weeknd
When true art gets recognised :')
Pathetically.Awesome it decent
Jake Tyler it's trash
Jake Tyler Yep their music is very 'daft punky'
How many people got that reference
sonically cohesive There's always one guy, and you're that one guy.
RyanHardt people like sonically can never be happy for other because they beat their favorite artist. Like they won just be grown about it instead of calling the album trash.
The most beautiful and real hug I've ever seen on TV
It's so emotional how they first hug not people around them, but themselves. And what a warm and meaningful hug. They were expecting them to start walking up to the stage but they were still hugging. Man, they will be remembered as legends.
2:07 what a legendary people there.
And Paul McCartney was like : "this is what I mean about music". 2:39
You know you're big when a Beatle stand up and raise his arm for you.
I was laughing at the fact Yoko Ono was presenting
Even Olivia Harrison was there

this moment made me so emotional! seeing the whole crew walk up there and the beautiful speech they delivered...proud of daft punk. you guys deserved that 100%
You could just tell when they were hugging each other, you could see the joy and excitement they felt, even with the helmets on.
They win every single time..........
And I'm happy about that
Thomas, Guy-Man, Paul, Pharrell, DJ Falcon, Todd Edwards, Chilly Gonzales, Panda Bear, Nile Rogers and the rest of the crew all deserve it.
Bradley Wolf They were nominated for five categories and they won all five. I'm pretty sure if a guy wins an award four times, there's a high probability that he'll win the fifth time too. I guess that is why the other nominees weren't nervous, because they were sure that Daft Punk was gonna take hime that Grammy too.
Haha Taylor Swift heard the letter R and thought i won i won... but it was not red but Random. Daft Punk rocks. I love them
+Veneciq Tot The chubby guy behind her gets an even better reaction and when he realizes it's daft punk he goes into disappointment mode lmao
Now she won it with 1989. Haha :)))
+Việt Tồ yeah, cause Daft Punk was not there haha:)))
jajajaja Turn down for what! 😂👍
Honey even if they had been there they are not competent for her in any way: 3
Would have been cool if one of them had built a speaker into the front of the white helmet and given a pre-recorded synth voice speech
haha hell yeah. thats exactly what I was hoping for
Yeah, they would say something like "Burger, nuggets. Nuggets, burger."
Ricardo Aguilar OMG yeah
+Ricardo Aguilar hahah marakesh du rire nice one mate !
I was hoping for that too!
It’s a bummer only one album can win, because both Daft Punk and Kendrick put out the definitive album of their respective genres.
Julian Casablancas and Panda Bear should've been there :(
Amaury Lannes yeah, it definitely would’ve been cool to see those two up there with the gang.
Amaury Lannes couldnt agree more I luv Julian
Julian doesn't do shit like this unfortunately but he received a Grammy for this apparently!
TrevorTalks yeah
de strokes really?? :00
