I love how this remix basically tells you what Mazinger is supposed to be. It represents how Mazinger can either be a savior with the upbeat, heroic parts to the track, but it also has chaotic, dark or sharp parts to it representing how it could be just as easily the devil depending on it's user, much like it's namesake implies.
You know I love Fire Wars but...... that IS a Mazinkaiser theme more then anything..... this theme fits with the very first Super Robot Koji piloted and the very first Super Robot in general......... MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZIN!!!!!!!!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they ever make an anime of Shin Mazinger Zero, this HAS to be the opening theme. And it will be very off-putting due to Shin Mazinger Zero pretty much being Evangelion meets Mazinger Z.

I'm really late here, but Mazinger, just like Getter Robo, has a manga that's darker than the anime. More gore, death and heroes accidently killing civilians onscreen. The plot is also a lot different in the beginning, Kouji is actually the one rampaging in Mazinger instead of the Robo-beasts.
The manga kinda sucks because old man go nagai was putting more effort into devilman, and he kind of didn't notice he was making a breakthrough in genres until the cartoon came out. Being almost 50 years old makes it a hard to watch cartoon, as the animation work is wonky and the design for robots has no logic, but this is where all super robot stories began, so give it a try. The mazinger saga is made up of mazinger Z, great mazinger and grendizer. Mazinkaiser started as a new model in a video game, and it spearheaded the revival of the franchise. You can watch anything in any order, later reboots are loyal to the original myth and just expand on stuff. Shin mazinger is more recent and it encapsulates both mazinger and great mazinger in a single fast paced series.
