    Just a quick tip for your next videos: try to reduce the amount of screen movement. Personally, I found it distracting and it gave me a bit of a headache. Most of the time, you seem to move the screen just for the sake of it. In terms of actual content, you're doing great. I found the information very helpful. Thanks.

    I would say Count Noctilus is also one of the easiest too, no one is going to attack you but you have freedom to attack almost anyone.

    • @Ashannon888
      @Ashannon888 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Noctilus is hands down the most over powered LL without using gimmicks. By about Turn 40 you can have a doomstack of Necrofex that you recruit in 1 turn, cost you 1500 each and have an upkeep of 71 gold. And they get buffed to hell and back. That point you just win.
      Now other lords can get crazier but they normally just involve messing with game mechanics or specific army combos. Noctilus is just raid to level up, get Necrofex, win.

      @@Ashannon888 no it's not it's helman ghorst, you can build zombi doomstack and they win vs everything and cost nothing on hardest difficulty you don't even have to micro them send them afk in the enemy they win and You can have so many of them I'll have ATM 13 full army's with an total upkeep of 30 000 and 1 army wins easily with Zero casualties most battles and even if one hole zombi unit dies (doesn't happen often) they can come back after battle.
      His Zombies heal in meele and have a healing cap over 200 000 HP ;)

    I agree they got it WAY wrong with the empire in it's current state, their internal affairs mechanics are maddening (and pretty disfunctional ATM). But Cathai I feel is ok, specially Mr. Metal and fire. In my experience, strong economy beats basically anything else in terms of new player retention, the only real metric if you want people to play and learn more complex mechanics.

    I mean, he probably should be, but that dude is a one man doomstack.

  • @Joepjah
    @Joepjah ปีที่แล้ว +10

    I'd say either Lizardmen or Dwarves are a reasonable first pick as well. I mean, Mazdamundi and Gor Rok now have a way easier time consolidating Lustria. That with a rather easy play style and combat system and easy mechanics. The geomantic Web and rites are straightforward. Dwarfs, especially Thorgrim with the removal of Grimgor means that Karaz A Karak is a very safe place to start. Dwarf units are meant to take a beating and even their ranged units are forgiving for newer players. Their systems are very simple as well. and they've got no magic to worry about.

    • @Costin_Gaming
      @Costin_Gaming  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Possibly although for a new player I really wouldn't recommend dwarves with their slow growth and annoying grudges. They do have a very strong army though.

      Dwarf economy has been heavily nerfed though, gold mines used to give a thousand at tier four, now they give 800, the landmark in gunbad now only gives 800 instead of 1500.
      Thorgrim is actually a tad bit more difficult to get your economy rolling, and Wurzag is two provinces away. Not to mention you start with a full grudge bar which kills public order and growth.
      Still it’s far easier than Franz.

      Above Mazd and Gor ROk I'd say that Oxyotl might have somwhat complex mechanics but all in all they're busted as fuck and make him so strong if you think for 20sec about what unlimited teleportations between two points of the map allows you to do

    In my campaigns the Empire and Bretonnia are usually just completely wrecked by vampires, orcs and chaos. It's not even fun to play anymore as them or against them. A bit disappointing - I'd expect the Empire to be a powerhouse, but by turn 70-80 it is usually destroyed and I'm not even anywhere near it. Same for Bretonnia.

    • @garymcjerry
      @garymcjerry ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The empire is okay to play, not good, but just barley not bad.
      The problem I’ve found is, it’s a snowball faction. Either everything goes well or everything goes bad.
      My best tip is to just have a few generic lords roaming around the empire to resettle (give to elector option) to keep the other provinces alive and your imperial order somewhat manageable, bonus is you get loads of fealty, which is why when it goes well, it can go really well.
      Now I’m not at all saying that’s all you have to do, the empire has to definitely know who to go for as a threat in order to have a nice late game. If you can get them though, it’s quite smooth till the big chaos wave.
      In my current Karl campaign, I have the whole empire, and military alliances with all the big order faction, dwarfs, high elves, Kislev etc.
      So I have the ability to recruit some mad mixed armies lol, the tech tree helps with those.
      All in all, I’d love some sort of touch up though, it’s so close to being good, but not quite imo.

    Another quick point on Chosen - Whilst you're correct that Nurgle GW are the best choice for their huge HP sponge plus AP damage and poison, Khorne Dual Weapon Chosen are a legit choice if you're going against lower Armoured enemies, ie everyone but other Chaos Warriors and Dwarfs. They absolutely tear through demons and low to mid armour. Obviously they don't have shields but their armour is high enough so as to not make it as big a deal as it would be. Added to that, Khorne dedicated lords and heros on juggernauts are beasts so fully khorne based armies as Archaon are a blast :D

    • @jarlwilliam9932
      @jarlwilliam9932 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nurgle Chosen even out do them in that respect specifically because of healing ability. The Nurgle side of chaos is legit cracked. Two Nurgle exalted heroes, a Nurgle warshrine, and 8 units of Nurgle chosen with great weapons will legit tank and spank two to three times their number in all melee fights regardless of what they go up against, add in a Slaanesh warshrine and you absolute gold.

    • @donmongoose
      @donmongoose ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jarlwilliam9932 Oh for sure, Nurgle GW Chosen will win you ridiculous battles, my point was that in the vid he highlighted them and undivided chosen as the "go to" and I just wanted to point out there was an alternative. And sometimes getting through units faster is better than simply outlasting them for obvious reasons.

    • @jarlwilliam9932
      @jarlwilliam9932 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@donmongoose I understand Nurgle tanking and you having to use plague magic to achieve victory but you’d think Khorne would be the ultimate melee grinder. Turns out plague demon worshipping Vikings beat raged out berserker Vikings which is kinda weird.

    • @donmongoose
      @donmongoose ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jarlwilliam9932 Well for one, healing has always been one of the most OP magic since game one despite all the nerfs and two, battles are won by outlasting your oppenent, and thats Nurgles shtick.
      Also, I still maintain that against low to mid tier armour Khorne DW chosen + lord n Hero will win as many battles as Nurgle, and they'll do it faster.

    @tacul9333 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Tiktaq'to is one of the easiest Legendary Lords. He can get a Fireleach Bola Terradon Rider doomstack in the first 4 or 5 turns. This will simply wreck everything in the early game. It's especially powerful because in WH3, you're fighting tons of siege battles, and the enemy are sitting ducks for your bombs and bolas.

  • @donmongoose
    @donmongoose ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't know if I just got lucky, but I found Wurzags campaign ridiculously easy. Early game, savage orcs and their bow versions are incredibly strong, you can confed through battle with the surrounding orks easily, fight a few battles to get your waaagh up, cheap second army, pop your war on karaz karak dwarfs, knock out barak varr on your way past, Skarnsik was knocking around the silver road being a menace, took him out in a battle and got the regions he'd kindly conquered for me. I had 5 regions in a very short space of time and all the surrounding factions were too busy fighting each other to build up anything that could challenge me. The only real challenge early to mid game was Angrund having a complete rage boner against me but with Ikkit expanding east that stopped being a problem.

    • @Costin_Gaming

    I think with a ton of experience and practice things become like second nature and we can lose perspective of what new players are presented with. I'm still new at the game, I've only been playing it for like 6 months, but the things I needed to learn/ struggle with was't so much a particular unit or Lord skill but how to balance growth and income, how to use building slots efficiently, overextending. When I tried Skaven the first time and saw 4 different Clanrats and 3 kinds of Skavenslaves on top of the whole Underempire it was way too much.
    Even if new players know the roster and higher tier units, they're not going to be familiar with them in the same way as someone who has finished multiple campaigns on various difficulties with different factions.

    HUGE TIP FOR WALLED SETTLEMENTS
    this of course applies for any faction that has access to stalk units but you can 100% win every walled settlement battle with 0 casualties if you have at least 1 stalk unit and 1 siege attacker in your army.
    what you do is attack the settlement and start the battle immediately so the enemy wont sally out. when the battle starts you will ideally have a majority of your army visible and you will position your forces on one side of the settlement away from the main victory cap, this will ideally force the AI to put most of their units over by the wall to protect that side. You will then take your stalk unit, climb the walls on the other side of the settlement, and cap the victory point. the balance of power will slowly adjust and you will win
    the AI will sometimes try to rush the victory cap to defend but it can be a bit hit or miss. this strat doesnt work for minor battles since the those maps dont have victory caps and only have a main leadership cap which doesnt change the balance of power from what ive seen
    tldr: cap walled settlments with stalk units if you're okay with cheese

      @@Loneaxe not sure what you did wrong. Im assuming you used huntsman? It can take awhile for the balance of power to shift into your favor if you're greatly outnumbered. Taking the victory cap doesn't work like how it did in WH2 exactly so you do have to either defend the cap properly or hope the ai does nothing. I've had it go either way. sorry but this gotta be for new players since the topic of the video. but for new players especially archaon was explained really badly.
    You didnt properly explain what you can actually do with other factions and what it means.
    1. You can only vassalize specific norscan faction by claiming the fortresses.
    2. you can vasslize i.e. nosca by diplomacy which is a waste of time.
    3. you need to burn down a faction to its last settlement and subjugate them but you need to give them settlements back manually.
    4. you CANT vassalize other Warriors of Chaos.
    5. you can FORCE CONFERDERATE them instead of subjugating them so you get their Legendary Lord (only Archaon and Belakor can do that)
    6. most importantly you can basically subjugate EVERY faction on the whole map (with some exceptions like pirates)
    as a new player i would have had a million questions what you were even talking about...
