"a couple hundred years ago" ??? Seriously? How about a couple of decades ago. As recent as 1993 we didn't have the internet or any cell phone technology available or affordable to the masses. (1994 - First smartphone hits the market) (April 30, 1993 - The World Wide Web became available to the broader public) I'm 60 and my oldest daughter (41) did ALL of her school book reports and so forth using the Encyclopedia Britannica BOOKS. Yes, real books not electronic anything. Kids today (people today) are spoiled lazy! If the power went out today, I believe the vast majority of society would kill themselves over the addiction they have in their phones.

My ‘release’ is cycling. An hour on the bike, relaxes me regardless of how hard I may pedal. I get to see the world, breathe fresh air and remove myself from the internet for a bit.
