- Сan airplanes fly with only one wing? Or can they reach supersonic speeds - still with a single wing? If you answered no to both, you’re in for a surprise! Every commercial airplane you’ve been on has only one wing! As for supersonic jets, the British & French Concorde and the Russian Tu-144 Charger were the only commercial airplanes to have broken the sound barrier in the 20th century.

SUMMARY:
- Accidents happen, and sometimes planes must make an emergency landing because a bird smacked into the windshield or got itself into one of the engines.
- Normally, after it’s hit by lightning, an airplane is sent for inspection, but it can still safely complete its current flight.
- Today the airplane mode is more flexible too, allowing Wi-Fi to work on board. That’s why you can connect to the on-board entertainment system even with everything else turned off.
- With window screens open, flight attendants have better lighting inside, can see if anything goes wrong outside, and the ground crew can also notice if something happens on board.
- Unlike passengers, flight attendants don’t have armrests or even comfortable enough cushions to sit on. All they have are small foldable seats near the galley.
- The first airplanes were called biplanes because they had two wings: one on the top and the other going through the bottom of the fuselage. They were connected by struts and wires, which made a kind of a box that basically kept the craft from falling apart in the air.
- There are forces at work on an airplane that don’t allow passengers to feel all the moves the aircraft performs. When it banks, it applies a certain force to itself so that it feels like you’re being pressed down, not to the side.
- The higher you climb, the thinner the air becomes, until you simply run out of it altogether.
- Clouds, especially thunderheads, can indicate that an area of turbulence is ahead. But sometimes a clear-air turbulence occurs, when a plane can drop a whole bunch and start shaking without any warning.
- An airplane can only fly with one failed engine if it’s already in the air. It can’t take off in this condition - and it won’t. While mid-flight, though, the single remaining engine will give the aircraft enough thrust to continue moving forward.

Centrifugal force it’s the same force that delivers the power to mopeds that don’t have gears. Basically when something moves or spins the force spreads weight outwards the faster it goes the more the weight is spread out .

Mass has a tendency to preserve energy, so change in speed and direction requires energy to be applied. when spinning in circles there is a constant change of energy being applied. The one mistake on this in the video is the glass was tilted so the rim is facing outward instead of inward as the water would be mostly in the outer region.

The wings arent connected in fact they are made in 2 seperate parts and sometimes different facilites on the other hand on the "2 winged" plane one wing is connected that counts as one wing but on airliners the wings dont go through the plane to the other side, its like saying if you duct tape spaghetti to 2 seperate sides of a bottle and say it has one spaghetti. On the "2 winged" planes its like if you put one big spaghetti straw on the top of the bottle and split the other spaghetti in half and put it on each side and say the splitted spaghetti is still one straw of spaghetti.

The force that actually keeps the water is "CENTRIFUGAL FORCE". It is something similar to "CENTRIPETAL FORCE" ,but the difference is both of them are in opposite directions. This is the same force that seperates RBC and PLATELETS from your blood in a centrifuge.

This is simply not true, the wings both generate lift, although the wings interfere with each others aerodynamics, and the second wing only adds about 20% extra lift, but it is a wing, and does add to the overall lift of a plane. I'm a pilot and aviation enthusiast, and I don't think Brightside is a source that can be trusted.

I've always been wondering if the engines of a plane stalls out or catches on fire because i now you can't fly above 60 or 70 thousand feet in a commercial aircraft but i also now that not only the aircraft need air flow going over the wings but its engines also need to fed air because it burns up fuel and it uses air the do that. so if there is no air being fed into it than it will stall or maybe ne.catch on fire.

The Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde and Tupolev Tu-144 had only one crash, due to an engine panel that fell off of a Continental Douglas DC10-30 that hit the tire of the Air France Concorde. The tired exploded, shrapnel hit the fuel tank, and the engine fumes set the plane in flames
