How does this make it to the news?.. if you are paying 400$ for a windshield, you are being ripped off. Your insurance company usually bills under comprehensive and not collision. This will not increase your rate and your deductible should only be $50. Call your insurance company again and file a glass claim.
Wow, must have been a really slow news day to cover this story. It is a Toyota Camry, it isn’t like it is an irreplaceable classic. This story should have just been a simple report of a car being hit with a chunk of concrete and for people to be on the lookout. Who cares about the car or this guy?
I'd get a second opinion on the cost of that window. Shop around that's a lot for an old-ish car. I could find it for half of that 😅 I know that's not the point and that it still sucks. But it could help it suck a little less 😒
No you couldn’t. That is pretty much the going price for a windshield replacement, unless you buy a used windshield. A new windshield a lone will run close to $300 without installation. Used ones in good condition will run just under $200, with some being much cheaper if they have scratches or discoloration on the edges. By the time you add in taxes, you will be pretty close to the $400 mark for a new one.
@@TheCrazyMoparDude68 Im a mechanic so there is no labor. I've replaced a lot of windows buddy. I know what I can do and how much it will cost roughly. The window on my Subaru outback cost a little over a grand, because it has sensors that half to be calibrated being a newer vehicle.
Thankfully he is okay. For sure somebody throwing rock. Could be worse. It reminded me a case of teenagers in Michigan the guy in the car died.

Some woman was killed back in the mid-late 90s at the Clayton Ave overpass by a rock thrower. Old problem in that area.
Bro needs safelight but yes driving home from work in st.louis makes me very scared
Why is this still happening? This was an issue already.
Um ok. I take it this guy hasn’t had many tragedies in his life. It’s just a broken windshield, dude. It’s not worth calling the news station.
Probably hoping someone will start a GoFundMe page for him 😂
His shirt is from the side panel paint scheme from the Partridge families bus.
Attempted murder. Not just "troubled kids". City/State/Federal government needs to to put higher barriers on this overpass (so they go elsewhere?)
He's got crappy insurance.
He needs a different insurance company.
I love that Gordon Gartrell shirt.

Insurance will cover it
Only if he has full coverage. A lot of people with older cars only carry liability insurance or have extremely high deductibles.
