It helps to tie off the centre stand to the front of the skid plate so it won't roll off the stand when you reef on something. Great real world vid, I learned a ton. Kudos to the boys for letting her be capable, that's respect in action.
Nice to see those tools in action on the trail. A few extra hands certainly help but she did the bulk of the work - obviously knew what steps to take to accomplish the task.
Great real life video. Love it, good job. Can't tell you how many times I've told many fellow riders to learn their bike and be prepared to fix it on the road and then they do nothing. Would be a pleasure riding with y'all if I ever get the chance 🤘
As always Juan brilliant videos,I have gone back in time to watch this as it's now October 2020. I am also following #Itchy Boots on her solo riding adventures, she is currently in Norway on her CB500X having previously ridden many countries on her Royal Enfield Himalayan which is still in Peru when due to Covid-19, she had to be repatriated back to her homeland, however because the boarders in Europe (now closing) opened up is on her Northern European tour.
thanks. Jenny mentioned the Motion Pro bead breaker that alao doubles aa spoons or tires irons. have your tried them oe heard anything from your brethrens?
"Jenny Morgan of Rally Raid" yep she is cool! I had to change my front wheel tube and tire once on the trail... Fun was not the f word I used. good tough job.
You can put a rope or use a strap around the out side of the tire to hold the bead in place while you pump it up, it will push the tire down and out to the rim of the tire in place, special good on tubeless tires. I have always used rope with a trucks hitch but one of the ratchet straps would work for some one who dose not know there knots. It goes around the circumference of the tire.
That looks like another good reason to have a center stand on a bike, I always put one on mine for road side chain maintenance. I have been very lucky as I was always in the city when I had my flats on my bike, and only had 3 over 55 yr of riding. How did putting the 18" tube in a 17" wheel work out. were you able to leave it in or change it when got home. If I can get the 2019 CB 500 X in time I will be planing a trip across Newfoundland this year. Wanted it in black but looks like will have to settle for red.
Jenny is a SODDING HOOT !!! I would like to do a ride with her. I would probably have sore sides from laughing so much. AND the girl can ride what's NOT to like about herJuan you are a lucky dude to have the opportunity to ride with her.
*JENNY* you and John need to design a bead breaker that bolts to the swingarm of the bikes you sell kits for. After getting the first side of tire loose, put wheel back on... Bolt the bead breaker into place on swingarm against the tire sidewall... Tighten the beadbreaker down ( threaded bar that increases the leverage pressure on the bread breaker bar section..). Think of threaded scissor type ball joint splitter in terms of action but in reverse as you're expanding not contracting. Pop.. Bead breaks and you've done it yourself with very little effort and in a controlled manner. Remove wheel again, change the tube or ( or repair ) and the rest is standard procedure. Great if you're in the middle of nowhere or have sustained injury in a spill.
road side changes are a major pain. I remember doing one in the rain at about 7 degree c. the tyre got cold and my God was it hard to get it back on....
Great video! Looks like you all had a good time even though the cb lost a tube. I don't see any drop bars on the rally raid cb500x. Would they be cumbersome for touring?
Yeah, thanks for your input! The barkbusters and engine guard do seem to great on their own. I feel like the gas tank guards are there mainly to add a mounting spot for aftermarket LED lights
Thanks great experience to capture. First I've seen the trail buddy rim tool. Would you recommend it with Husky FE501 or do you think it unnecessary and overkill to add this into the kit. Would you agree that that tool is meant for larger rims or would ut be equally useful on the Husky?
honda should included the centre stand... it will most benefit when removing the rear wheel.. it may look not pretty having a centre stand but who cares, as long as it helpfull
Next time break the bead the easy way, Put two guys on a bike and have the third one stand on the tire and roll over it with a running bike slow. That gives you well over 600 pounds of down pressure. There's many ways of breaking it.
I love Jenny Morgan! Learned more about Moto Bikes from her then any other person ever!
Yes! A great Ambassador for the sport!
Great tip on using the side stand to break the tyre bead - thank you.
Great video! Reminds me of repairing a torn side wall on my Jeep in Moab with a sewing awl and a big patch. Good times.

Harold and I were afraid to scratch her rims ...Lol

Thanks Bruce!

Re-watching for the 100th time and it makes me want to go buy more Giant Loop products. Awesome company!
It takes some GOOD friends to help in a time like this.
Great video Juan, and wonderful example of some trailside wrenching.
Thanks Gar!
I like to watch this again and again. Such a good time you had and a good fun :)
You forgot to mention the latest and most vital piece of equipment the Arizona Rock bike support.
thanks. Jenny mentioned the Motion Pro bead breaker that alao doubles aa spoons or tires irons. have your tried them oe heard anything from your brethrens?
Jeez! I learned a lot from this vid. Thanks for posting it.
Cracking job, JMo.
After watching the 2020 trip TH-cam brought me here. PRICELESS!
As a male chauvinist Jenny has brought me back to reality! 😂😂😂 I’m good to go now!

Great video Juan! Definitely learn some tricks in this video.
Thanks! I did too.
this brings back memories. Changed many a tire without the help of machinery. I use the small vice grips as a "bead buddy"
very deep voice

Hi, the 19 inch tube will work fine for 18inch rim, u can even put 21inch tube in 17inch, u just need get to you destination then change it.

Good idea!
I like her she knows her stuff. Have a blessed day.
road side changes are a major pain. I remember doing one in the rain at about 7 degree c. the tyre got cold and my God was it hard to get it back on....
Next time carry two 4 inch C-clamps and its a breeze.
If you are more than one bike on the trail you can use the kick stand to break the bead....
Great stuff. ....sodding marvellous! Steve
Thanks Steve!
Great video! Looks like you all had a good time even though the cb lost a tube. I don't see any drop bars on the rally raid cb500x. Would they be cumbersome for touring?
Thanks! yea, the RRP engine guard and Barkbusters are more than enough protection.

You can probably skip it for now...after you change a few flats you can customize your tool selection.
Thanks. What trail center stand would you recommend?
None, too heavy...get this instead,,,th-cam.com/video/C87fUglDZFY/w-d-xo.html
Have seen people break the bead by putting the side stand on the edge off the tyre and letting the weight of the bike gently push down on the bead.
Não entendo a conversação em inglês, mas as imagens valem muito mais que mil palavras. Gosto muito do pessoal do Rally Raid.
....way to proceed on with fruitful goodly muster..... cracking good job!
For the future, try using the kickstand to break the bead.
they did, what video did you watch?
Jenny is cooler and tougher than 99% of us out there.....Lol!
Yes! and Smarter too!
What a star!
I have seen inflator that fill from the bike exhaust. Might be lighter that the trail compressor.
I was wondering about that....does it rot the tube? or is it fresh air?
+blancolirio it's just engine exhaust. maybe a little warm but it should be just co2, h2o, and some co.
Maybe it's time for the tubeless rim option, plug and pump and back on the road in 15 minutes. I liked the Raising Arizona music at the end.
What make is the tyre compressor?
Beautiful
Good job
awesome!
what is the blue plastics?name?
This is why I prefer tubeless tires you get a puncture and you fix it within 10 minutes, don't even need to remove the wheel.
Sodding great job!
honda should included the centre stand... it will most benefit when removing the rear wheel..
it may look not pretty having a centre stand but who cares, as long as it helpfull
The stock bike has a center stand option, but not on the RRPCB500X level 3 bike...it's too tall. Also the RRP bash plate uses the center stand mount.
Hyder Esmail she can't have center stand when u put rally raid engine guard, u have to remove center stand
Not fast enough for ISDT, but a nice demonstration. Motorcycle tires are just a biotch to change. Jenny is a tough gal.
excellent!
Thanks!
do you not have AAA?
Haa!
OK mais pourquoi se faire chier alors qu'une bonne réparation par mèche vulcanisée fait parfaitement le job?
Next time break the bead the easy way, Put two guys on a bike and have the third one stand on the tire and roll over it with a running bike slow. That gives you well over 600 pounds of down pressure. There's many ways of breaking it.
Tube tires are garbich
Trail tire changing and English English lessons.
aahh?
Best trail tire inflator out there 👍🏻
