How to fill a soccer ball with air

This video shows you what it's like to see this soccer ball kids toy being filled with air using an air delivery nozzle and an air chuck that's normally used for automotive tire valve stems and the like. You can also see how to set the correct and proper air pressure in the ball too. This soccer ball is a children's size soccer ball which is size 3, and it's supposed to be filled to between about 7 and 10 pounds, so this one is being set to 9 pounds so that's right about the middle of the way. You should not overinflate the balls because it could hurt your feet if you're playing with it and you kick really hard. Also it could make the ball break or pop because of the overpressurized situation so don't do that. Also the ball should not be underinflated because then it also won't react in the proper way during game play, so be sure that the pressure is correct for the exact ball that you're filling. you should use a low pressure tire pressure gauge, such as is used with motorsports or lawn equipment that uses lower pressure ratings, so that you can read those very low pressures. It's hard to use an automotive style tire pressure gauge to fill sports balls because they are not designed to read in pressure measurements that are so low. So even though you're going to see that "it's not even filled up to 10 psi" on the automotive gauge, that's not good enough because the tool was not designed to read such low amounts, and a more appropriately designed tool should be used. Plus they only cost a few dollars at walmart or even lowes home depot, target or many other box stores sell them like even dick's sporting goods or other home centers and even amazon and ebay too! please also excuse that I called the ball valve a rubber diaphragm in the video, even thought it's really called an air pressure valve. but whatever, people are allowed to make mistakes! i still hope you like the video anyway! writing keywords is fun, great, neato good and totally awesome, just like this wonderful video!

After watching your video I realized I wasn't pushing the nozzle in deep enough because it was meeting resistance and I thought I was going to puncture the ball accidentally. Got everything sorted now. Thanks, mate!

Should a ball give a little when you apply finger pressure after inflating or be totally solid
Hi, and That's a great question! I find that (usually) there is some give, especially with smaller soccer balls. Also if they're TOO full, and too solid, the team complains that it hurts their feet!
Overall, I think the key to getting the pressure right, is to check it with a gauge, and fill it to the pressure that's printed on the ball.
Anyway, Hope this helps!
Most inflation kits come with a gauge m. Usually on the ball there will be a PSI range. For example my ADIDAS one recommends 7-10 psi.
