Ohhh the Denis era....It was quite enjoyable to say the least. Even though it lasted for a year but he released a great album with Asking Alexandria. Also, he joined the band because the connections he had with his previous bands (Make Me Famous and Down & Dirty) that were tied to Sumerian Records. Now, he's doing what he did with The Black in his new band Drag Me Out going back to heavy because when he started this new project it was melodic rock/alternative stuff. It's worth checking though.
Dude it's crazy cause I used to watch him doing asking Alexandria covers in his bedroom. Then later on goes to be in AA. This was in high school so about 12 years ago lol
@@MessiahKnight omg remember his awol cover? Pure beautiful 😍 above92 can't believe I'm going through his Playlist lmao so funny to go back on these things lol
There also singing about Danny and the problems with the band when he left Ben and Denis rewrote it talking about the problems. It's a really emotional album the whole thing
I’m a LONG time Asking Alexandria fan, like since I was 14 and I’m 25 now! I’m about to see them for the 11th time and hopefully meet them for the 10th time in September with some other absolutely amazing bands!! I actually have a tattoo to commemorate this song, it’s a knife and dagger to represent the lyrics “your tongues like a knife, your eyes cut like daggers!” 💜🤘🏻💜🤘🏻
Dennis was in a band called Make Me Famous. We know its real, is prolly his best work botha as a composer and singer at that time. Criminally underrated album.
I was lucky enough to catch MMF at the All Stars Tour... I think they played 2 more dates after, then booted Dennis from the rest of the tour lol. They were fucking killer live.
This album is sooooo good regardless of it not being Danny, Denis killed it such great songs all the way through I still remember when it first released i was so happy.
Denis is such a phenomenal singer. He sounded great in AA but it doesn't sound complete without Danny on lead vocals. Checkout Denis's previous band Down and Dirty. The song Move it is dope😎
He was the clean vocalist/guitarist in the band Make Me Famous, they were very similar to Asking Alexandria. He also is part of another band formerly known as Down & Dirty, now I believe it’s Heavensent
That’s a banger! One of my fav songs from AA of all time. Kinda wish Denis was back... cause with Danny’s return band turned into another mainstream rock/country radio friendly sellout. I miss old days of AA... Not The American Average is the perfect example of their old sound. I wish they would bring it back. But I know they won’t. Sadly.
@@CODASTREAMS I would love to. But their last 2 albums just suck big ass, as sad as it is. Nobody tells them to stay the same. But you can try to stay within your range and experiment. Not just do a 180 and hope fans will stick along. I’ve been a fan since 2010, I grew up with the band. And up until their self titled (which in hindsight is not that bad compared to the last album) I listened to them with joy. Hell, when most of the people were hating on The Black and Denis - I accepted the change and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was hyped for Danny’s return. But when bands try to go radio friendly just for the buck - this is where I can’t accept it. Same happened with Bring Me The Horizon’s “Amo”. I didn’t like it even though I’ve been a fan of a band since 2008. I stuck with their old albums. Then they started making cool music again, experimenting with different stuff and I loved it. Their last album was a straight banger. So as you see - I am not against changes. I am against selling out which AA unfortunately totally did.
They called it "growing up" in music but does really age affects what kind of music you play? Like if when I'm younger I play heavy shit and now that I'm older I play soft radio music? The true to this is that they want to appeal to the casual friendly audience. That's how I see it. I might wrong or right. Idk
@@RodHxC well if “growing up” means just flipping off their old fans - idk if it’s worth it. Seriously, I think with this move they lost more old fans than gained new ones. Good for them if I am wrong. But for me - I voiced my opinion on the topic. I am not hating on them. It’s just the style they are playing in now is not appealing to me. Simple as that.
Denis has been in a couple of bands before his time in Asking Alexandria and one outside of his time which is his current one. He was first in Make Me Famous for a good amount of time until things fell apart in the band, he then was in a band called Down & Dirty (probably two of his strongest songs are from this band) and then after AA he took some time away from music before coming back to music with Drag Me Out. Denis is an incredible vocalist, but the way he handles his bands can cause some bad light on his name. I still wish I was able to see AA with him as the vocalist, would've been wild considering Denis is one dope live singer. If you want to check out his other stuff here are a few recommendations!
