The 20-acre facility where I work on D Rd in Loxahatchee was all but flattened by that same tornado!
They should build their houses made of concrete since they know that their place is prone to hurricanes; they should adapt to the invironment and stop using wood, which is likely to be easily destroyed..USE CONCRETE in building your houses.

In florida the construction code changes everytime a disaster happens.
Florida change the code years ago that houses are built with concrete walls and they have to be raised like 10 feet higher for floods
The problem is that the majority of the homes in florida are from the 1960s and 2000. The homes that go down are old houses. Thats one of the reasons homes are getting expensive in florida

Part of my family lives in Wellington. My mom sent me videos of the tornado in the near distance from the front of her house as it traveled towards the back of the house. Very loud, in the video you could see the debris spinning inside of it. Scary stuff, thankfully they were all safe

That area is south of any of the projections, they were not told to evacuate at all. No one could have known that tornadoes would hit that area when all the talk was about west and central florida

Because this area is not even near the hurricane. There was no evacuation order. Tornadoes spawn out of nowhere there is no warning.

What I am always wondering, why are people living in a hurricane and tornado zone? I would never want to live in Florida.

… this was not in the path of the hurricane at all shut your mouth judging innocent people who got caught ina. Tornado that NO ONE could predict before it happened.
