If you want my honest opinion (as someone who has never experienced 60 FPS in modern titles, this little card is actually pretty good in my standpoint for certain games
This was the GPU in my "first" gaming PC back in 2014 with an i3-2100 and 6GB ram. Wasn't even the best for its time, but it played pretty much anything I threw at it and I was extremely happy! Mine was the nice black and green XFX model, man I wish I could remember what I even did with it haha
@Tayfun McElwain it does, in GTA sa if u have ur fps not locked its gonna get glitchy, like cars braking on their own and swimming being broken, it's more common in some old games than nowadays. I can get u another example of u want.
This card series used to be pretty decent for its era especially for 720p and 768p gaming. So I'm not surprised that it fared well. Even now if you plan on playing pre-2015 games on 720p it will at least give you 30-60fps on that resolution. Decent enough to play older games on low resolution monitors if you can't afford something expensive. Here you can get this card for less than $10 in my country but it's very hard to find anything from this series nowadays.
I bought this card for my son's system when he was like 5 or 6 (he's 21 now). For his games at the time, the performance was great for the price. Don't recall what I paid for it, but it was ridiculously cheap (like less than $50 or so). It even played Arkham Asylum very well. I still have this old card in my streaming box. We only watch movies with this system now.
my dad's old GTX 260 is still running even today , cant believe the old timer is still kicking ❤️❤️❤️ Obviously he doesnt game on it anymore , he uses it for display only 😊

I personally, don't give much importance to FPS, I'm speaking from experience as I have a range of graphics cards from GT 710 to 3080. Even 30FPS seems awesome when you enjoy the game instead being bothered by FPS count
I would agree to a degree, i've started playing Skyrim on the PS3 recently and whenever i start fooling around, having fun with the game, the low framerate doesn't bother me (only the short freezes remind me, that i play on the PS3). Some other titles on the PS3 are still very enjoyable, even when they run with 30 fps and below (i normally play with 60 and more fps on pc). I've enjoyed games on N64, that ran lower than 15 fps (Perfect Dark with 3 players, 8 bots, explosives and N-Boms, it's madness).
This gpu plus the i5 750 was my humble budget PC from 2009 until 2015 when my PSU got fried and took down everything else with it. The fact that I managed to play BF3 and FC3 on it without dropping all settings to low was impressive. Can’t remember for sure but it cost like €80-90 I think.
My Intel HD 620 integrated graphics with 2133 MHz RAM runs it perfectly fine, I think even order GPUs wouldn't have problems with it at medium settings at least
Maybe a little late already, but those graphics glitches are very probably appearing because of the overclock you made to the Memory clock, other than drivers or the gpu itself.
I love you’re videos, but you should make a video on it’s GPU a stock clocks and an other with mild overclock bench to see the deference’s if it’s worth overclock or not. Keep the good work bro!
You might as well buy a 2017 and newer phone/tablet instead, less actual games but more quality, my 7th gen iPad can run 1080p 60hz with the equivalent graphics of cod BO2 on the ps3 or Xbox 360
I found this old card in a box in my garage, it was a twintech variant with a very crappy cooler. I installed it immediately cause the old gpu i had died, so i didnt have pc for the past year. In game temps were 85 degrees celsius. Suddenly an idea jumped in my head. What if i installed a better cooling system to this old card. And thats what i did. I got the cooler and fan from the dead card (Radeon hd 6870) and i installed it on the gt 240. The trickiest part was to widen the holes on the pcb in order to make the cooler get in contact with the die. The operation was succesful. Now the gt240 is gettin max 45 degrees celsius on 100% load. That's it. I just wanted to share it xD This card was the cause that i found your channel, and i must say that im pretty much happy for this. You are creating great videos, and i say that as a guy that has been searching for old used gpus for the last weeks! Keep it up man!
man you should do more skyrim benchmarks i know like every card can run it easily but i just love skyrim man maybe try mods for benchmarks too on skyrim much love and keep up the good work
That's was my first gpu, with a core 2 duo e7400 4gb ram, i played all launched games with high settings, crysis 1 , resident evil 5 and more, its was good card for time that was launched
Those weird graphical glitches used to happen to me in CS. No idea what it was at all, but I blamed my integrated Iris Pro graphics. A couple updates later and it’s gone entirely.

i had an i3 (i dont know what generation was it) with a gt 210 which was like 13 years old since 2007 or 2008 and i played lots of games without any lag like csgo minecraft roblox gta 5 (only on lowest graphics possible) etc. i was happy with it until i bought an i5 7400 with a 1660

The GT 240 GDDR5 was a really good budget card for its time, it performed similarily to the HD 3870 or 9600GT.
This is the only guy who actually reviews the GPU's. Most people if it doesn't get 60FPS high settings in modern games they tell you it's terrible

The gt 240 was an absolute beast back then. I used that to play dmc4, prototype, dragon age 2, dragon age and many others.
I'd love to see this one revisited in 2023 to see how it performs now :).
I guess 1GB RAM is going to be pretty useless these days though :/
It'll perform the same in these games tested. It doesn't support Dx11, let alone Dx12. Newer games will not start on this card because of that.

you're probably CPU bottlenecked in csgo then!
Maybe a little late already, but those graphics glitches are very probably appearing because of the overclock you made to the Memory clock, other than drivers or the gpu itself.
I love you’re videos, but you should make a video on it’s GPU a stock clocks and an other with mild overclock bench to see the deference’s if it’s worth overclock or not. Keep the good work bro!

You might as well buy a 2017 and newer phone/tablet instead, less actual games but more quality, my 7th gen iPad can run 1080p 60hz with the equivalent graphics of cod BO2 on the ps3 or Xbox 360

I have played with this card 7 years ago and it was working like today's 1660super😀🤣
I found this old card in a box in my garage, it was a twintech variant with a very crappy cooler. I installed it immediately cause the old gpu i had died, so i didnt have pc for the past year. In game temps were 85 degrees celsius. Suddenly an idea jumped in my head. What if i installed a better cooling system to this old card. And thats what i did. I got the cooler and fan from the dead card (Radeon hd 6870) and i installed it on the gt 240. The trickiest part was to widen the holes on the pcb in order to make the cooler get in contact with the die. The operation was succesful. Now the gt240 is gettin max 45 degrees celsius on 100% load. That's it. I just wanted to share it xD
This card was the cause that i found your channel, and i must say that im pretty much happy for this. You are creating great videos, and i say that as a guy that has been searching for old used gpus for the last weeks! Keep it up man!

man you should do more skyrim benchmarks i know like every card can run it easily but i just love skyrim man maybe try mods for benchmarks too on skyrim much love and keep up the good work

You can block the fps to 70,80 to stablize

That's was my first gpu, with a core 2 duo e7400 4gb ram, i played all launched games with high settings, crysis 1 , resident evil 5 and more, its was good card for time that was launched

The GDDR5 version of this card is amazing like the 9600 GT or the 9800 GT
Those weird graphical glitches used to happen to me in CS. No idea what it was at all, but I blamed my integrated Iris Pro graphics. A couple updates later and it’s gone entirely.

i had an i3 (i dont know what generation was it) with a gt 210 which was like 13 years old since 2007 or 2008 and i played lots of games without any lag
like csgo
minecraft
roblox
gta 5 (only on lowest graphics possible) etc.
i was happy with it until i bought an i5 7400 with a 1660
@Float Samples never had any issues with frame drops and shit like that but now im running a pc with a 3600x and a 5600xt luckily
