    Happy Sunday!!! I hope you enjoyed this video. If I forgot anything, please comment down below what are your favorite parts of living in Seattle! 😁
    Also, a few corrections to the video:
    1. the Space Needle is a Futurist building not Modernist (I didn't correct myself)
    2. I pronounced le parisienne wrong (hope you didn't notice haha)

    In addition to Seattle having a great public transportation system, let's give a shout out as to how much of a walk-able city Seattle is, as well! My bf and I love walking to the grocery store (we have 5 within an 8 minute walk!) , many coffee shops, delicious restaurants, bakeries, the library, post office, shopping, etc.

    • @Chris_jae

    Today, unfortunately, there is a growing homeless population in Seattle. High time to devise a social system to care for these people.

    • @Chris_jae
      @Chris_jae  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, and it's only increasing. But idk why Seattle has such a high number of homeless. Compared to other major cities, it generally has more homeless than most given population size.

    • @m3lodic.33

      @@Chris_jae perhaps because it’s a big city with many people (who can potentially give more change) and the weather is warmer than the east coast. The place to be is a suburb AROUND Seattle.
    The city itself is congested and expensive. Most apartment rentals charge $100-250/month just to park your car.
    Redmond and Bellevue are gorgeous, but also super expensive. Sometimes more than Seattle. A lot of apartment buildings aren't upgraded.
    Kent and Renton have good and bad areas. Imo it's the cheapest place, and there are very nice gated communities that are absolutely picturesque. No paying for parking where you live or want to go.
    Late August/mid September is wildfire season. That's the WORST time to visit.
    Seattle's surrounding mountains are stunning in a while that pictures and videos could never capture. SO many waterfalls.
    The year-round greenery and ferns.
    Medieval village in Carnation is my favorite spot in the Seattle area.

      I am hearing you, but there is a reason they charge premium prices for parking... They don't want more cars in the city. It sounds like Seattle isn't that hard to live in car free.

Illegal fireworks stands all over. Stommish days in Lummi. TH-cam it is actual canoe races. There are days you can pick 5 clams off the beach. We have the best salmon. There’s fishing hunting gather. This area is filled with fruits berries and natural medicine. Ice caves from glacier that are still retreating. Then let’s not for get the orcas, whales.

      @@Chris_jae of course all native gatherings are open to public. Just follow what everyone else is doing. Bring you own lawn chair or there are bleachers. Please do not sit in front as those people put their chairs up 5 days in advance. You can go right up to drums and record them. If not on dance floor please ask before taking pictures. You will have sooo much fun. Stop by the fire work stands by the casino. It is legal to let them off there. Charlie and Bird stand is my favorite.

    What about safety in Seattle. Is it a big issue there?

    • @Chris_jae
      @Chris_jae  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes and no. Like any city I would never recommend waking around by yourself at night. Most of the city is safe, but I would avoid 3rd avenue when possible. Otherwise it’s safer than larger cities. We don’t have as much gang issues, but we do have a homeless and drug problem. I’ve so far only had good experiences but I know those who have stories to tell

    • @alm7535
      @alm7535 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We visited Seattle and Bellevue over the Christmas holiday this year, and our friends who live in Bellevue highly recommended us not to go to downtown Seattle at all. But when I was visiting Seattle in June, I didn't have any issues there so I was kind of surprised hearing their warnings.

    • @Chris_jae
      @Chris_jae  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That might be because there are much less tourists in the area. So the ratio of tourists to homeless isn't as good. In general during the day it's fine. I walk downtown most weekends and haven't had any issues so far. Although I don't go out alone at night. They might have also been a little more cautious because Bellevue is a very safe area. It's probably one of the best areas in the country. I guess to compare, I would walk in Bellevue alone at night, but wouldn't walk around Seattle alone at night
