I have an HDMI to VGA cable.... I guess it needs a converter to work? I can find no information about just a cable. If it does not work by itself then why the heck do they sell it? Thanks in advance if your still around....
This was help full but i need to do it with out logging into the laptop because my laptop screen is broken and thats why i was doing this but i cant log in so this was no help right now but in the future it will...thanks
Hi :) I successfully connected my pc (on internet) to my ultra HD TV ( not a smart tv) with a HDMi cable. PC is windows 8.1 Everything was working great watched Utube and catchup TV etc. THEN I stupidly changed the setting in PC right side bar Devises> Project > to "PC SCREEN ONLY" and both pc monitor and TV went black. When I try to go back to the original "DUPLICATE" again it will not select. What can I do? IT was heaven and now nothing!!!! Thanks for any help
After seeing both screens, what happens if I turn off the tv and just want to watch on my laptop? ALso, for me it would only be a temporary setup so would i have to undo everything after using so i could watch tv itself, likewise with laptop? Finally my tv is setup with an hdmi splitter, would i be able to do this coming from my splitter instead of the tv?

i get the same as MAC, as soon as i plug the hdmi, or a VGA both screens go black, i took the laptop to geek squad and they got it to work for them on a monitor, computer and tv only about a year old. Any other suggestions, my screen before i plug it in looks just like yours

hey dude, i got a laptop and a new monitor, my PC isnt coming for months so i want to set it up for movies and stuff. i got a DP on my monitor and a HDMI on my pc, i got a DP to HDMI cable and i connected everything, it all tirnes on and works but after it starts up it says "no signal" HELP
Sarah Bevie buy a VGA to HDMI cable and do the same with the audio cable like shown in the video. OR buy a VGA to VGA cable, connect a VGA to a HDMI converter and then a HDMI cable. And do the same with the audio. (The converter looks like a box, if you do it with the converter, plug the audio cable from the laptop Into the converter)
Newer TVS CANT BE CONNECTED with a VGA XORD BUT YOU CAN GET A VGA OR VGI ADAPTER TO A HEMI AND DONNEDT TO YOUR TV,MAKE SURE YO GET ONE WITH A SOUND ATTACHMENT,LOL,BUT I DONT NEED SOUND JUST VIEDO TO TV,KARAOKIE,LOL
