  • There are multiple reasons why the Toyota Sienna has always been a favorite amongst minivan buyers. The refined powertrain, coupled with excellent interior space, comfort, and features, made it an instant hit since it was initially launched in the United States in 1997. The same ethos of the older models has been carried forward, and in honor of the 25-year milestone, the 2023 Sienna will offer a limited-availability 25th Anniversary Edition model.
    So let's look at nine things you need to know before buying the 2023 Toyota Sienna.

    I guess we do things differently than some folks. We have been driving Siennas since we bought our first one new in 2012. We bought another new one in 2018 and we just got an awd XSE 2023. I have 3 kids and use the Sienna for pretty much everything. Not once and when I say Not once I mean litterally not one time over the last 11 years of owning Siennas did we need to remove the 2nd row seats. Everyone on here is like "DEALBREAKER"! So guess we don't use our van like everyone else.

    I have a 2013 Toyota Sienna and I love it way more than this hybrid. It has a very nice sporty front end not the gaping maw look. It also looks bigger and roomier than the new minivans. I can remove the 2 nd row seats and it becomes a huge open space. The new minivan has fixed 2 nd row seats. My minivan can seat 8 people. It is very powerful. Only con is the mileage.

      I found this helpful, since we are looking for 2nd row seats that are not fixed, thank you

    The rear bumper is flush with the bottom of the tailgate, which means that, practically speaking, there is no rear bumper. Pray that you don’t get rear-ended, or your insurance company will be in for massive repair costs.

  • @ronward1229
    @ronward1229 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Removing the 2nd row seats is a deal-breaker for us - that rules out this Sienna.

    • @evans387
      @evans387 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      same... it's lame that there isn't one minivan that has it all, there's always a trade-off :(

    • @smrtguy77777
      @smrtguy77777 ปีที่แล้ว

      Toyota thought about passenger safety and comfort vs use as a cargo van. Also, plenty of TH-cam videos showing how to remove the seats if you’re so inclined.

  • @maureenm6115
    @maureenm6115 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You don't talk about the condensation problem with the Sienna's engine. Reviews talk about not being able to drive the car constantly short distances esp in cold weather or condensation builds and the oil breaks down. Wellll if you are typical family you are often doing short trips -drop off at school, sports run to the stores. Seems like a really big problem.

  • @kenmasters007
    @kenmasters007 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    #1 not mentioned. Expect to pay MSRP or above and wait at least 1-2 years so most likely if you order in late 2022.. you will get a 2024 not a 2023

    • @plmn93
      @plmn93 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly. I was quoted $5K over MSRP and up to a two year wait. No thanks.

    • @CoralSea
      @CoralSea ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@plmn93 With $5k you can buy enough fuel to drive the new Odyssey for 46k miles ($5000/$2.5 X 23 = 46000). In term of saving money, with $5k over msrp the fuel saving is not worth it.

    • @plmn93
      @plmn93 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@CoralSea Yep $5K buys a lot of gas, and the 1-2 year wait is ridiculous. This isn't a Ferrari, it's a minivan.

    Lol the 0-60 is the slowest in the segment. Lmao who cares??? It’s a minivan. What’s the best and actually matters is the 36mpg

    • @brokeduece1691
      @brokeduece1691 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      0-60 is very important. You don't to buy the guy merging on the highway going at 35mph, when there's a semi going 55mph.

    • @vuville514
      @vuville514 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Who cares? Try passing someone from 55mph. The engine is lethargic. You have to floor the pedal. Then cover your ear as the CFT is annoying too loud. No thank you. If I can afford a $50K + van, I can afford $5/gal gas. If you need 36mpg...get a Corolla. Because as everything in life, there are trade offs. Yes....36mpg. You lose power. You lose space because of the battery. So what will it be? Plus the infotainment center is dated. Looks like my 2015 Prius'.

      I like my 2011 sienna’s v6, i like the new highlander v6 hybrid which has 295 hp better now but all new cars has CVT now and 9 to 10speed and hybrid, super annoying when you see the rpm needle jumping all over the place. I only wish they make the sienna second row seats can be removed also, i use it for hauling stuff. Now i have no desire to buy a new sienna.

    No mention that there are now no bumpers to speak of, which means that if you bump into anything or somebody bumps into you you'll need a whole new tailgate or massive front fascia. Ridiculous design for a vehicle whose drivers are often distracted and spend a lot of time in crowded parking lots. Can't even say it's form over function either, not with how incoherent the styling is.
