- Thanks for your feedback on previous video. Here is a side by side comparison of the the most popular 7/8 passenger vehicle in both toyota’s lineup and customer preference with its latest in house competitor the grand highlander. I did my best to give you guys a good side by side look hope you enjoy and hope this was helpful in your decision making.
I do uber in a 2023 sienna xse… and let me tell you people love that car … a lot of space , is great for the family, very economy and lol i manage to fit around 12 suit cases and 5 people once (crazy)… sienna is just the perfect car for me very good car
The Grand Highlander is for people who need a van but don't want to be seen in a van.

Another reason: No choice. 2 year waiting period for sienna, you can only buy GH if you don’t want to wait that long 😢😢😢😢
The Sienna is so much better if you have kids, people need to get the silly minivan image out of their heads and do what’s best for their family.
Tons more space in the Sienna for people AND cargo, low entry height for kids and sliding doors so they don’t hit the car next to you!
I love my Sienna limited 2023!! This is my 3rd Sienna!

We still have a new Sienna XLE bought in 2016 and now we just ordered a GH XLE now that the kids are grown.
With the sliding doors the van wins every time, it’s just better!!

This is a great comparison of the two vehicles.
I have the Limited GH AWD. It's very comfortable during our 1500-mile road trip, more comfortable than when we had the 2020 Sienna in the same road trip. I may, however, trade for a newer Sienna in the future, but only when an 8-seater is available in the higher trim with AWD.
They won’t put the 8 seater in the higher trims of the new siennas. It’s due to weight.
My 2022 sienna xle awd was amazing. Comfortable. Perfect for road trips.
Solid it because didn’t like how it bottomed out when loaded for trips and didn’t like the low height of the lift gate. I’m 6’ 1” and had to duck.
I bought it to replace my 2008 sequoia but it just didn’t due to height and interior space.
@@americandude3825 I don't buy that it is about weight. Other minivans offer 8 seats in top trims and how much, if anything, extra can that small seat weigh? If anything it might be lighter than those two big versitile captains chairs.

Higher is NOT a better option if you are looking for comfort, the lower the seat position is the better is the comfort and handling, If you know Higher vehcile cause more tiredness in a long journey so for me Sienna🔥 is a perfect vehicle.

me too its actually bigger than the grand highlander and the backseat legroom is as big as the seat in the Rolls Royce.
Wish they'd make a XSE AWD 8seater Sienna. But then no one would buy a Grand Highlander if they do.
If Toyota puts the newer infotainment in the Sienna it would be head and shoulders above the Grand Highlander in almost every way other than power in the hybrid max.
Basically they should call it grand rav 4 instead of grand highlander its just the longer version of rav 4 with third row

Multiple dealers have told me sienna is mot available. Otherwise, the only advantage grand highlander has is extra 3rd row cup holders.

I am conflicted. I want either or because we need to get a vehicle we can take camping. We currently have a 2015 Highlander that we love but I like the cargo area of a minivan. Im thinking that would be a great area to put a refrigerator and a toilet. I just need to check if a full size bed would fit also.
I put a dometic fridge and dometic toilet in my Sienna full time! My kids have it so good. Make sure you get the power inverter. Sleeping inside you have more room to sit up in a minivan.
…See many videos of people living in Sienna on TH-cam. 1500watt/120 volt inverter. A/c & heat can be used without engine running overnight due to large battery
@@stephenfiore9960 the battery will definitely not last overnight. It goes for 20mins on AC before the engine kicks on for 3-4mins
@@TobyCostaRica …Yes , I should have clarified, as the engine not continually running. Run time probably depends heavily on the temperature difference between the outside & inside of the vehicle
@@stephenfiore9960 that’s my 20k mile average, I do think it turns on more when using heat as it uses ICE to heat things up.
But living in Southern California I never use the heater when parked. The greenhouse effect is enough
Van win hand down in comfort and cargo capacity. They need to make a plug-in hybrid version with 20kwh battery and it a perfect family car!!

Are those front seats all the way back when you sat in them? I think sienna wins. Haven't seen a grand highlander but we had a 22 highlander xes or whatever it is. I will say that the safety features are a A+. My son was tboned in the highlander by a very large cargo truck at 60+ mph and he and his friend walked away. I was surprised!

Grand highlander has better ground clearance than a sienna though in winters where ground clearance and traction is a must!
Everybody who picks a Sienna over a Grand Highlander.......sale numbers do not lie the regular highlander out sells the Sienna so the G4and Highlander will be no diferent.
What's the difference between the Highlander and the Sequoia?
The Sequoia is a luxurious version of the Highlander. The price is around 15-20k more

Highlander is a crossover for families that want comfort but sequoia is for those that have a family and love to go off-roading and stuff like that.
So, what you're saying that a lifted Sienna would be just a tiny bit superior in pretty much much every way, other than that it has the stigma of being called a "minivan."

I don't know. I keep wanting to like the Grand Highlander over the Sienna but for me at least the 3rd seating just not comfortable for me as an adult. I tried several time sitting back there at the dealership and just not comfortable and I would hate to sit there for long road trip. Probably fine for kids though. My kids love my mom's 2011 Sienna.
The only thing I don't like about the Sienna is it's dated infotainment screen. I don't know why Toyota does upgrade all their 2024 model with this type of buttonless touchscreen.
I use to pass on the regular Highlander since the trunk space was so small. Now the Grand Highlander space is not bad but still don't compare to the giant dip down trunk space of the Sienna. I could never pack as much stuff in the back of a Grand Highlander that I could with the Sienna.
For some strange reason the Sienna only has the panoramic view ONLY in it's most expensive trim the Platinum which is disappointing. Most other Toyotas have it available on the Limited as an addon like the Rav4 or Highlander which they should have done with the Sienna. It helps me see the curb when I'm parallel parking or going around a tight corner or if I have to straighten out my parking in a parking lot.
Only if the Sienna had enough power, either the hybrid turbo or just the turbo and this video wont be necessary
Grand Highlander and vehicles alike are for people that don’t want to be caught dead in a mini-van like myself. And that’s okay!

Why can’t grand highlander make the second row floor totally flat ?! That should be easy considering both have awd and floor is higher than Sienna as well.
well when you fold the second row in a highlander or the grand it is level with the third row and the trunk, giving you one straight level for cargo. What your talking about is in the Sienna, The second row when folded is not level with the vehicles floor.
It is too bad that Both of them has no rear bumper anymore, nothing to protect your tale gate, it is just a matter of time your tale gate get damaged and your cannot close it, it is very expensive to repair.
How much is your “dealer market adjustment BS charge” on each of these?
I refuse to pay these and will switch away from any Toyota dealer or buy another brand unless they stop gouging!
Sounds like your in America? Canadian dealerships have been strictly warned not to do so. We sell strictly only at msrp as set by toyota canada not a dollar more.
Just go Sienna if you have a family.... Stop trying to sell the Grand Highlander which is just more expensive and less efficient

I have a friend who bought the Toyota Highlander a year ago because she didn’t want to go to the minivan and now she’s thinking about upgrading her Highlander to the grand Highlander. Most people doesn’t like the minivan look. Personally, I grew up in a minivan, so I love minivans.

the standard hybrid in the GH gets the same mpg as the sienna, so no its not less efficient
