Dang ! And I thought the best in La-Z-Boy was having the sales lady lying that you would have your chair in 2 months when it actually takes 10 months to get it !

Look starting at 3:31 in the video (link below)
Stress design. The left chair has a flap where the La-Z-Boy has a wood panel for side to side stability (and another wood panel on floor across the front). Reaching/leaning out of chair an extra inch for that popcorn bowl will stress the mechanism the chair is "built around" (as you said). If that metal frame on the left bends (it will) the footrest will "sway" towards the popcorn bowl. The structure on the La-Z-Boy makes it possible to have a design where move the scissor mechanism inboard (the scissors on the left are all the way outboard, again magnifying any bend from wear and tear).
Subject now is laptop charging cable..Anyone own a laptop? Of course you will use a laptop charge cable. As soon as I recline in my current third party chair, that cable gets "wrapped' around the lower mechanism and foot rest. At 3:13 you can clearly see a two inch gap in foot rest on he left -- a laptop cable accident ready to happen. When you want out of the chair on the left, the laptop will be yanked out of your lap by a motor (pushing that gap away from you). If the male power connector of your laptop is connected at a 90 degree angle you can snap the motherboard connection inside (happened twice to my teens).

Can power be added to a regular lazy boy chair

Does a power lazy boy recliner have a battery?

    • @LazboyofOrlando
      @LazboyofOrlando  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Sharon. Our power recliners all have a battery backup for safety so in case of power outage you do not get stuck in the chair. There is also an additional battery pack you can purchase that allows the recliner to float in the middle of the room without having to be plugged into the wall. This is a rechargeable pack that needs to be charged every 7-15 days depending on usage.

Its too bad they don’t add heat and massage to the ones that have the lumbar and headrest combined. In leather with the USB ports.

Why are you pronouncing it Lazy boy when it doesn't even spell that way.

  • @MTCKIE68

Yeah but lazy boy is still made out of wood instead of quality metal.
The last one I had the foot rest had plastic in the mechanism.
That chair ended up being a real problem, the power stuff had issues and they never could keep everything working.
Eventually I got most of my money back and just got a normal recliner.
It started falling apart not long after the warranty was over.
Now I have a Lane with power and it's just as bad.
So I don't trust any of them anymore and I also found out that all of these chairs are made in the same factory. 😡
It's hard to trust companies now !!
    Everything is made so cheap.
Nothing is Solid and Built With Quality Anymore 💯 !!!

Is there a battery in the electric recliner?

No Ma'am. It wasn't offered when I bought the chair. Actually that part works just fine because all it does is lift up and drop the footrest. But there's a lot of other issues with the chair.
I will say the cushions on the Lazy Boy was better than this one. But the frame is 10 times better with the Lane.
I wished the back came off of the Lane.
