    My grandparents had one of the original La Z Boy rocker recliners in a light tan or putty color. It’s now almost 70 yrs old, my aunt has it. Had it reupholstered in a plaid upholstery- it looks great & still feels like new. My family all have La Z Boy recliners. I recently moved to the UK & am looking for a wall recliner here in our tiny city apartment. It’s going to cost a lot to buy a La Z Boy here but will be well worth it!

    This was very helpful! We just bought the Talledega Wall Recliner and thought it was missing the wood frame on the bottom. Of course we called the store twice but the sales person wouldn’t return my call.
    Your video showed us the metal frame was the correct base for the chair and answered our questions. Thanks again!

    What a great and very informative video! Well done! Unfortunately, I purchased a rocker recliner for my 96 year old mother last month from Raymore and Flanagan. It has the cable release, and is WAY too difficult for her to close. I contacted the store, which is only 5 miles from her house,and asked if there was something we could do.....as far as an exchange of some kind. I should have gone to the showroom to try it out, but I didnt. And I was told by the rep. I spoke to, that it would involve a return/restocking fee of almost half the cost of the chair! Which is ridiculous. Its obvious they dont stand behind their products, or truly care about their customers. And we have bought quite a few pieces of furniture from R. & F. before. Im now in the position of having to purchase another recliner, and dump it , or give it away, the recliner to someone. Needless to say, we wont be doing business with that store again. Lost 2 good customers.

    Excellent video explanation. Thank you. Now I understand the difference between a rocker and glider recliner (aka, wall-saver).

    I bought a brand new leather and very expensive La z Boy recliner with remote control in Ocala, FL because I was anticipating shoulder surgery. Mine is squeaky right from the start! It squeaks just when I slightly rock with it, and when the reclining mechanism is driven out and in. Do they not lubricate these things when they are being built? La z boy really needs to look at their quality control. Mine was close to $3,000 even on sale!

    The wall saver looked more difficult to recline/slide forward that just the recline one, i wonder if that is the case?

    I have one of each but prefer the rocker recliner! Not only can I rock back & forth for hours on end but it’s lighter to carry/move! Both are comfortable la-z-boys though

    My lazyboy swivel rocker recliner never makes a noise when I push back with my head to lay down like this one did in the video. Mine also does not make that banging noise just a muffled thud when I close it and ONLY IF I let it go and don't control the handle manually properly. If you want a beautiful floating comfortable between the two buy the Lazyboy. You will feel like you're floating and you don't get dizzy from the automatically self rocking when you move. You have a lot more steel on the better chair Lazyboy because it has to be heavy weight to do the amazing floating feel of comfort in auto rocking. Though it looks like that Lazy boy does not swivel like mine, as it has legs and not a round plate for the bottom under base. Good review though.

    Can I add a swivel glider base to the wall saver recliner?

    • @vmobile890
      @vmobile890 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes would need to add a swivel yourself mounted on a flat wood base to any model but would raise the chair slightly .

    I have a new 2022 Morrison power recliner wall hugger. It reclines nearly flat for sleeping, but it can’t be placed any closer than 12 inches from wall or it will hit wall when fully reclined. I’ve owned much less expensive power wall hugger recliners from other manufacturers that can be placed closer to wall. Lazboy is no longer the quality of my father’s chair. Todays chairs are wobbly and must be handled very carefully. They also are not made for men with very long legs like my tall husband. The footrest ends at his calves and he is barely 6 ft tall.

    At 1:25 what is the name of the recliner to the left of the screen? Left of the wall hugger, and it's light grey.

    The one that doesn't rock... the mech that allows it recline we call a 0.1600 rod. It has a metal base. The wooden base we call a 0.1000. I dont think that style is a 521 though. Judging from the look of the upholstery it looks like a 515 to me.
