The lay down actions make it easier to not worry quite so much about acquiring the "best" country board. Really an ingenious twist on the worker placement mechanism!
Looks interesting, have to watch for a chance to try it out. Oh and as for the infinite board it is a mechanism/fold pattern from cardmaking (like birthday cards ) it is a fun trick and I won’t be surprised to see more uses of it in games. Makes for a lot of variety without having to have way more components 👍🏻👍🏻
Exactly how I feel. On one hand you have Radho, who calls every game he reviews "Phenomenal' until it has absolutely no meaning, then these guys , who aren't enthusiastic enough, or just talk through the components. Two extremes. All I'm left when watching this review is "Don't forgot to sub to five of our channels, etc'.
We liked it. There are reviews when you’ll see us go over the moon for a game, but the fact is that there are so many games these days that are “good”. This is something we hear a lot though, and we do want to try to adjust so you guys are getting the kind of value out of our reviews that you’re looking for. We want to avoid scores for a variety of reasons, but mostly because those can become so arbitrary after a time-with many games potentially hovering within a narrow range. So with all that said, what would you guys think might work? Thanks by the way, for watching and for the feedback.
Thanks for responding. Honestly something at the end of reviews that sums up your feelings on the game.Often it feels like the video ends with discussing a component or a rule. A simple list of positives and negatives for each of you would be appropriate - what you liked and didn't like. Most of us like reviewers for a variety of reasons, but some of it is because we feel we can identify with their tastes. I know that if reviewer x likes a game might not mean much to me because our tastes are fairly opposed. On the other hand, if I really love a reviewer's top ten, if they praised a game I am much more apt to give it a second look. All that being said, I think a reviewer's job (whether the content is books, movies or games) is to try to figure out what the creator is trying to achieve and judging whether they were able to do so. I'm never going to be the target audience for Madea's Menorah Holiday, but if I were to review it i would try to at least look at whether it's target audience might like it. You'll hear reviewer's do that all the time. "I don't like hidden movement games, but for those that do, this really seems to do it well." Something that sums up your thoughts about how you felt about a game can still be done while keeping impartial and professional I would think. Anyway, thanks for listening.
I'm not sure I buy that reasoning for being against a scoring system. Drakkenstrike, up until a few years ago, rated quite a few games on BGG. As a consumer looking to potentially purchase the game you're reviewing, a score helps me contextualize your thoughts on the game. Currently I feel a bit lost when I watch your reviews. I know you guys said a couple positive things about the game but I have no idea how much you like it. In fact, the first two sentences of your reply informed me more as a consumer than the entire video review. Since you guys are against numbers, I would recommend checking out The Game Boy Geek's rating system.
I have to say I'm getting more and more skeptical of ManVsMeeple reviews. Originally I was enamoured by how these guys distanced themselves from the pact. The more time has gone on, the more these guys (especially Jeremy) shy away from clearly stating their opinions about a game. I'm not accusing them of anything but this style does sort of support some of the negative claims I've been reading about their channel.

Excellent review and overview. Never heard of this game and it sounds AMAZE-BALLS! Thanks gentlemen.
Totally
One of only two newly released games I picked up at Essen. Beautiful, interesting game-definitely a keyper!
Great choice, definitely one of my favorite new games of the year from everything I've seen about it. Great job as always guys.

How many pieces? ALL OF THE PIECES! (Then again, tracking resources on boards instead - like e.g. Ave Roma does - takes up table space too.)
Love all key games . i really like the look of this
Looks super, for me one of the most intriguing
I’m sorry, I must have missed it. Do they like the game or not?!?
Coy Goodson seem like really nice guys. But I feel this way about a lot of their reviews as do many of my friends.

any date for US release?
a lot of the Essen games talk about December release, but more often than not it's January
Outstanding review... one of my favorites for games I've seen since Essen. Peace gentlemen.
This ain’t no enginering! It’s witchcraft!
