    It's quite sad, that in many aspects mobile imaging has just about managed to surpass a 9 year old phone. I would expect a giant leap in picture quality for the sort of money thay are asking for these new flagships. It's quite pathetic actually.

      First of all, a professional photographer would score S21 ultra higher in this video.
      Many people like yourself, do not see the big difference because you don't care about HDR, shadow details, bokeh effect, 4k resolution, super zoom, rgb colours, super wide angle camera, macro shot.
      New phones are also super thin, with batteries 4 to 5 times bigger than the 808 and still smaller. If companies wanted to make a 808 rival phone in 2021, it would be too thick and heavy that people would not buy.

    When the lighting is good Nokia keeps up and in some pics to me looked a bit better. But as soon as HDR and nightmode start doing their thing S21U pulls ahead quite a bit. Plus it has OIS whis is huge.
    I wish a maker would take the idea of the 808 and utilize it today. With all the advances in post processing, AI, HDR, nightmode and silicone a phone like 808 would take amazing pictures you would think.

    Nokia still win for natural detail purity, that's for sure. I do find most Samsung photos in daylight look rather blueish to me. The HDR shot seems to have dialled down the blueish look, including the full-res version.
    If there's one thing I'm really not happy with the Samsung photo processing, it's the oversharpening! It's clearly visible on lowlight and 10x zoom shots. The Samsung may have better dynamic range than the Nokia in lowlight condition, but I'm totally not impressed with the oversharpening mess at all. That same oversharpening mess is even visible on the full-res version for crying out loud!
    You know what? I'm really not happy with the S21 Ultra image processing. The 9-in-1 Nona Bayer pixel binning and latest-gen OIS really should favour the Samsung in lowlight since it produced a much larger effective pixel size and can shoot at a much faster shutter speed than the Nokia. But the oversharpening mess really lets the whole photo quality down.
    P.S Now I'll just wait to see if Steve Litchfield from All About Windows Phone will do a camera comparison between the S21 Ultra and the 808.

For bokeh, I much prefer the natural bokeh coming from the lens instead of some software interference. Just curious, why did the S20 ultra score better, and the S20 FE even more so?

    • @farishanafiah8461
      @farishanafiah8461 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I actually do think it's because of the new chipset ISP. GSMArena made a side-by-side camera comparison between the S21 Ultra and the S20 Ultra, and even I'll admit that the S20 Ultra looks better than the S21 Ultra. While both phone do show some oversharpening, it's not that severe on the S20 Ultra.

      You have to remember that the 808 has no OIS and it has dark aperture, so it can be noisy even on daylight. At least there's the built-in ND filter, so that's fine by me.

    Amo todas as comparações feitas com os smartphones Nokia e com smartphones destas nova geração, e vejo que ao invés de progredirem parecem ter regredido, as câmeras destes novos dispositivos estão vindo com teor de contrastes altíssimos e as fotos passam por um processamento tão bruto que parecem desenhos que foram coloridos via software, sem contar que muitas das vezes já saem chapadas totalmente sem volume, o que não ocorre com alguns dispositivos da geração passada.
