Got some old ccd cams too. They lose when it comes to details, but they win when it comes to colours.

I'm very bumped that I don't know of any modern smartphone, that takes natural photos, without oversharpening. IN 2010! IT REALLY DOES BEGGARS BELIEF! 😱 As for the video, the Nokia's more vibrant colour definitely wins me. Despite the presence of Xenon flash, the lack of OIS means that it do produce a rather noticeable noise especially on lowlight conditions. There is something I notice though: almost all non-HDR daylight photos from the iPhone look so blue. I'm not sure if the iPhone's camera software is trying to push for more dynamic range.

Clean lens glass, do factory reset, flash firmware. I've got latest symbian Anna firmware on n8 and no problems. And my friend's old nokia n8 on latest symbian Belle hasn't got any problems.
HDR would have been just a matter of extra software added, though how you'd pair that with the mechanical shutter, I"m not sure. Perhaps taking several frames electronically before and after the physical shot. Generous scoring for the iPhone. There are some shots where it did objectively better, but the finished product wasn't aesthetically better... pretty fair, all around, though The N8 should be getting more love. People talk about the Pureview 808 and the Lumia 1020. I have the 1020, and this is a more pleasing shooting experience, overall, even if its ultimate abilities fall a bit short.

yes ip won in detail due to its oversharp algorithm by default(as all smartphones today)....also in low light due to its bigger aperture.. but i like the feels and natural color of nokia n8..much natural true image

Well, i like Nokia (i use one) .. and it is a bit of national pride .. for our neighbour country. I also do not like Apple, its poor sustainability, moronic buzzwords and conservatism. But ... your rating of who gets the score is just a bit too biased imo. The iPhone shoots the better picture almost all the time (sharpness and colour) .. which is no shame for the Nokia. It is 10 years older and a lifetime older in terms of emerging technology. Phones rely more on software than on physical sensor and lens sizes. The N8 is fuzzier and its colours are tinted.
In my oppinion some of Nokia picture give more artistic value than picture Made by iPhone. And also Nokia picture is more Sharp than iPhone picture. But Nokia maybe weak in lowlight

Even with noise the N8 looks more natural. Modern HDR cameras look fake somehow, they produce shiny plastic looking images.
In nokia n8 you could obtain hdr photo using hdr camera app a app could be installed when using hacked firmware

My mom had this phone back in 2010 this phone has the bestest camera!! Depth level is marvellous.. no phone camera can beat this quality
N8 could be way sharper, I think there was some hand shake. Also you should use the macro mode whe needed.
