Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the printer and paper. I too recently started a greeting card line and did not realize the importance of using good paper. I was a tad disappointed when I first learned that I couldn’t just use the inexpensive, heavyweight paper (300 gsm, but not inkjet compatible) I found at my local Michael’s store. But I totally get it now… I was using the Pixma IP8720, which did well, but I have heard that the Pro 200 does even better with heavy paper, and prints with less spraying. I'm planning to order one within the week. Thanks again for your review!! I was recommended your channel a few days ago - I subscribed, and now I'm going back to watch your past videos. :)
I am glad to hear. I should say choosing inkjet compatible papers are very important to have longer ink life. They are also brighter. I am going to try red river papers as well. hopefully new paper video will come.
@@nazlibrush It’s funny you mentioned Red River Paper, I actually received a sample pack of their greeting card paper, the extended pack which includes the heavier papers, and I was blown away!
I also called the company to discuss some of the printing issues with my printer. (They are quite knowledgeable and generous with their printing information). They did recommend the Pro 200 because it handles thick cardstock better, but the color and spraying issues I mentioned in my earlier comment are a non-issue with their paper!! The colors printed vibrant and the images sharp. I printed with Red Rivers’ ICC profiles, so I don’t know how the colors would have looked had I just chosen my own options.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I love seeing so many creatives on TH-cam sharing their personal stories of growing small businesses. I am a teeny tiny business at the moment just starting but I hope to be as big as you one day!
Hello Nazli I just came by to see what you do. I just love it. You helped me to not do too much too soon. Im going to check out more of your videos. Thank you
Wow thank you for this video. Could you please tell me how do you calibrate your print? I want to start making cards with my illustrations and I tested some colors and I think I am making something not right for arts. The photo paper the results are fantastic, however when I do stickers or just plan papers 😬
Because English is my second language. Folding tool is called bone because it is made from a real bone. It is a life time using tool, it never damages the paper as well. I highly recommend it. Washi tape is what I use, because it is less sticky. I hope this was helpful.
Thank you! And yes they do. I've using CARL Heavy Duty Rotary Paper Trimmer 15inch for a while and it is self sharpening if I am not wrong. I am using the same blade since I bought it. I hope this will help
You can either choose the page size on printer and 5"x7" should be in parenthesis or you can choose "other" on printer and adjust the sizes from you computer every time
Hi do you hand write the address on your mailer and use stamps (if so how many does a mailer that size require?) or do you use printed shipping labels? Thanks.
Hello Nazli, thank you so much for sharing how to make your art business. I just bought the same printer as yours, I am getting so frustrated to find out how to print the right colors as my original watercolor painting, I tried to call the Canon tech-support guy, it doesn't work well, do you have an issue to print the right yellowish-green color? My printer was always turned out ugly darker green! Could you please make a video to show how do you print your artwork through your computer to the printer? Do you use Photoshop or other software to print? Thank you so so much!
Hi there! I am sorry to hear that. Of course I can make a video of how I print. if you are scanning from your original art works I would recommend you to print from canon software. But if it is digital you can print also from photoshop as well.
Thanks for this video! I have the same printer, I bought it recently, the problem is when I print, the fonts are blurry no matter what, I am using Illustrator and Indesign and using high quality press, can you give me any advice?
Please give a total of your cost. I have been wanting to start my greeting card business for a very long time. Now that I am retired, it is time. I would like to know a total cost. Thank you. I will be following you and have subscribed to your channel.
This is a great video idea. I am not even sure why haven't I done anything like this yet. Thanks for being here and giving me a great idea. I will create a video that tells about all! 🥰

The cutting tool is called a bone? The tapes are called Washi tape?
I couldn't make out some of the words.

@nazlibrush thank-you, I heard you, but wasn't sure that's what I heard 😊.

I have a label printer and for a pound of an envelope takes 60 cents to ship it. I hope this is helpful
