Leaving these on whilst doing other stuff around the house feels similar to having s friend over who keeps babbling on about something they're really invested in. You don't even need to keep them entertained or pay attention, but in a away it's comforting hearing them talk and that's why you keep inviting them over.
I think it fulfills some social need in a very small way, just enough of a pleasant human presence to calm you but at any moment you can close the tab and send your little friend home without so much as a "Don't let the door hit you on the way out." My kind of interaction.
I think it's because Yhatzee is actually keeping it real with you in the reviews. Talking to you as if it were face to face and not just for the show. I mean, it is, but not fully.
An ability to appreciate a background noise sort of quality to the people we love, is a comfort i refuse to regret. When i'm a boring fuck, i hope people's minds wander. God yes they've been my sleeping aid for I think three years now, I can't listen these while working out anymore because I almost destroyed my back doing a deadlift
I often take for granted just how productive Yahtzee is the entire year, being able to churn these out not only extremely quickly and consistently but also to such quality that each individual episode is entertaining, oftentimes interesting and informative, but also just downright clever if also considerably crass. While on top of that finding the time to participate and create in other series on the Escapist. on top of writing his books. once you break it down its supremely impressive and inspiring I don't think he has missed a single week since he started Has Yahtzee ever had a holiday? I can’t believe how many of these games I saw come out and thought “Yahtzee is going to tear this game a new one,” and he did! I think game developers should watch Yahtzee’s backlog of similar titles whenever they’re looking for ways to remaster or revisit games, as he has a much better idea than they do of where their properties should go. Top notch game reviewing, can’t wait to see how the game devs fuck it up again next year.

I work as a cable tech, that guy that shows up to fix your internet or cable when it stops working, and I like to put these mega episodes on so I can work to something other then the silence of the freezing cold outside and cause I want to laugh at all the games I saw that were coming out that year and how yahtzees ability to tear apart these horrible games and make it funny as hell to do so.
At least Borderlands does actually accommodate both single and multiplayer. It is the lazy rout of more baddies spawn and they take a few extra shots to kill but it is at least accommodating to both as opposed to designing the fight for multiple people and tuning down damage output.
Tokyo Jungle is amazing, I am so happy he has not only played the game but enjoyed it, and brought it up again so many years after the PS4 took it out to the shed to Old Yeller.
Hey Nick or Escapist chap, in the ZP mega series playlist, the 2018 one seems to be out of order. Nothing big but it bugs me every time I see it. Thank you and the rest of the crew for always giving us fantastic content btw
