All those marble statues in the world and one hit wrong could spell disaster. Artistry is insane.
Kinda puts that into perspective. Imagine chiseling a perfect human hand and not making a single mistake
And in order to graduate and become an actual mason you had to make a perfect sphere.

The reason the tungsten powder doesn't mix with the bismuth is because the molten bismuth isn't nearly hot enough to melt even a single grain of the tungsten - hence why it bounces off the bismuth lava like cocoa powder in cold milk. And yes, you'd need a LOT more tungsten powder for it to sink in the upside-down backwards universe where tungsten powder clumps into a ball by itself.
if they had heat strong enough to melt tungsten the rest of the setup would be destroyed before it has a chance to mix
@@Cl-2048 tungsten melts at temperatures hotter than the surface of the sun. a oven isn't really helpful at that point
@@vladimirgalicia9331 yeah
@@vladimirgalicia9331 You're off by a factor of 2 there. Tungsten boils long before 6000 Kelvin

I have been "watching from time to time" the Waterjet channel in the past, but for a good while now I really get excited about them. I think it's the madness we need in 2024.
This vs. Mark Robers football kicking machine.😂😂❤
I was thinking that too
it'd probably break the machine

Hey Daniel!! I recently found the channel and have binge-watching the entire backlog. I just wanted to say, Dan and Mitchell were a hilarious duo, but you and Palmer are a force to be reckoned with. 😂 Your impeccable comedy is rivalled only by your tenacity in engineering.
Stay epic, gamers.
Weird to see you here.
You’re too kind! Game on brother!!!
@@WaterjetChannel You have really made this channel your own. You guys have a great onscreen personality. All the best to you from Latvia.
It's so dense it's indistinguishable from most people these days.
Lmao
i dont get it???
@@waffles6477are you being intentionally dense? (Pun intended)

14:57 did you just... Cut a 2x4 with a frigging waterjet?
He's called waterjet channel for a reason
Lol
Multiple backs were harmed in the making of this video
For real
The Tungsten dust has air trapped in between the particles, and when you mix it into the liquid Bismuth, clumps of Tungsten-Air that you want to mix in are floating by surface tension. If you used larger chunks of Tungsten they might sink individually, leaving the air around them behind.
Worse, I think the layers of Tungsten-powder/air inside it are lower density than the Bismuth.
19:27 was like a break in the matrix I was peacefully watching him pour bismuth then he starts talking about how all his viewers have beautiful moms😂
My guess is the tungsten being a powder allowing it to trap air is making it "lighter" or less dense.
Surface tension and grain size. Ever had something floating in your coffe and you try get it out and it sinks never to float again?
Same thing. The object has to be large enough to break the surface tension
The first football with a little explosive power couldve been a really mean nail bomb
Easy there Ted lmao
@@WaterjetChannelWe all know this isn't the first felony you've thought about committing for the channel
13:00 I thought it was a white desk with a dark powder but as soon as he wrote in the white my jaw dropped
What’s heavier: a pound of bismuth bricks or a pound of tungsten feathers
We should definitely test that 🤓
Pound of helium balloon or pound of osmium cube?
The powder floats because of surface tension. The bismuth is prevented from flowing between particles so air is trapped resulting in lower density.
this is the most diy science project ive ever seen. i loved it

this channel is completely different from what i remember but i genuinely enjoy it more than if it had stayed the same. i like this new guy aswell
Love to hear it! Thank you
I think a volleyball would work well. Since it’s like strips of leather (or whatever material that is) you could probably get away with just gluing them to a LARGE HEAVY ORB ™️
I’m gonna need a forklift if these balls keep getting heavier lol

I love this channel because it's the only things making channel that I can relate to: except fot the waterjet, I can see myself failing in every way you do. Great work, gonna be coming back.
This was my favorite video you’ve made so far. Great presentation. I really enjoyed.
You should set it next to a sidewalk at a park and film people trying to take it.
When this channel switched to new faces I was disappointed but over time I've been finding that I look forward to new videos again
I love the 2 sides of making stuff, first one is super cool water jet, second is caveman molds and sketchy practices.
Using an angle grinder on a janky lathe on marble… I’m surprised this guy isn’t missing more body parts yet
The small size of the tungsten powder and the surface tension of the bismuth prevent mixing. Sort of like how hot chocolate mix doesn't just instantly mix with water, some it stays dry because the surface tension of the water prevents it from getting between the super fine powder. It floats because of there's a ton of air in the mix. So adding the tungsten dust added air, making the whole thing lighter overall.
I was thinking it had to be something along those lines. Thanks for the knaaawledge
Might as well call Palmer "The Sports Guy"
These videos are so dumb it's a testament to how good a presenter Daniel is that anyone watches them, myself included. Especially since I hate crap jokes and Daniel seems to have quite a penchant for them.
Daniel is a real hero. He does all the things you're not supposed to ,do just so we can all see the consequences. What a great guy.
Nobody noticed the fly get murdered 😂 5:09
Can you make the world's heaviest Frisbee next? I want to see how it flies
"Maybe 12"
"OOOOUUUUCCCCCCHHHH!!!!"
I don't think it was 12
The fly in the last slowmo shot looked awesome honestly
you guys know JUST enough about what you're doing to get in trouble... and or make genius things like this.
The watermelon slow mo was ✨sparkling✨
tungsten may be top 10 most dense but your tungsten dust isint even as dense as bismuth which isint even as dense as lead meaning this probably weighs around as much as if you made it out of a dense steel, shoulda just done lead as its cheap and the only downside is you might get lead poisoning if you huff the fumes (if you dont burn your face off first) or if you lick your hands after handling the core of the ball
You don't have a chopsaw but you have a water jet. Incredible
that Harambe joke earned my sub haha. awesome work
The tungsten powder was floating for two reasons, surface tension, and air incorporated into the powder.
WHO WANTS TO HOLD THE TUNGSTEN FOOTBALL??
The fly in the slo mo was pretty dope
I agree with a ball of tungsten because it is better than a ball of steel.
So happy i just discovered this channel!
Maybe you should have looked up the melting points for bismuth and tungsten before undertaking this project. Bismuth melts around 521F -- you need to get tungsten up to 6192F -- a mere 5600-5700 degrees HOTTER.
And don't let OSHA see you melting and pouring metal while wearing SHORTS and NO FACE PROTECTION.
LMAO bro he hit himself in the head with a hammer for views
What a fun mix of "fun, I'm learning something" and "I'm concerned"
Ok but....how about making an air canon that can launch it?
We will have to speak with our lawyer first hahah
0:03 you should send it to Tom Brady
Wtf is going on with the bot comments? 😂
Every second video has a "I didnt think that far ahead"-moment... and I love it :D
This has some solid 2010's internet energy going on
Fantastic video! I am also DEEPLY jealous of your Prusa XL, that's a sweet machine.
Honestly with the helmet test, I think the solid floor under in is making it cave in worse, but on an actual stood up person it would cause both severe brain trauma and probably a severe neck injury from the compression.
If you want to make it even heavier, make it out of Uranium 235
Trust me bro
238 cheaper, easier to get, but doesn't have the wow factor
Thank you for the suggestion my brother 🙏
Can you send me a shipping container of it plz??
@@WaterjetChannel Alr, I'll ask to NileRed

"Would all this be enough to defeat Palmer and quench my thirst for heavy balls?" Very poor choice of words.

You can't get more American than a football made of knives
Skip the Soccer ball and go straight to either bowling ball or exercise ball lol
Who remembers when the waterjet channel was actually about the waterjet
You're really takin' care of bismuth! 😅
The powder isn't disolving into the liquid bismuth, so it would retain the high surface area it has.
Haha, Danny, in a throwing competition, the distance the thrown object rolls doesn't count!
wouldnt want to fly a kite in that park
Benjamin Franklin might want to
Still Waiting on someone to make a football out of Osmium
Heavieat watermelon! Get all the juicy fresh stuff out and replace with metal!
for projects of this type, perhaps consider another phase where you encase the object in investment plaster (cobb mold etc. a heat-tolerant molding material) and heat it in a kiln/fire to fuse it into one object.
I like the cut of this guy's jib
The amount of work you put into these videos is insane considering the channel started as "let's cut a random object and then lick it."
My man has a bass tracker shirt on!!!! My first bass boat many years ago was one of the OG tx16 trackers with a Merc 2cyl 2stroke 25hp manual tilt and trim lol for 5990.00 brand spanking new off BPS showroom floor lol. it was so slow with some gear, full tank and 2 people it wouldn't ever get on plane, just push water at 12mph lmao. I sold the 25 after like 6 months and bought a 2 year old low hour Merc 60 two stroke (it was only rated for a 40) and did some transom stiffing and a 4inch jack plate. With the 60hp and a 3 blade stainless fury prop it was a beast!!! No more planing issue lol load it slap down with weight and it would pop on plane like it wasn't nothing. Normal gear load, full tank, full livewells, 2 people and it would run 42-43mph and for that hull that was wayyyyy fast lol 40 felt more scary in that thing that 105mph in my 20xd/300R and I'm not kidding, 40mph in it felt like the hull skated all over the place and with with the trim tucked all the way down that thing wouldn't bite and turn but just crab walk the nose and keep going straight lol... Had a lot of fun in it for 6,400 cash out the door and the extra 1000 I had to put with what I sold the 25 for to get the 60 and the jack plate. Won a bunch of club tournaments on the st John's and rodman and replaced the money the boat cost within like 8 months. That light hull drafted so little and was easy to push pole over shallow stuff to get back in creek arms that the glass boat guys had no chance of getting to.. even after I bought my first 20 or 21 foot glass tournament rig I still kept that old tracker around for tournaments that I knew I wanted to get to places I can't in the glass rigs.. now days I have a 16ft/64in bottom width welded flat Jon boat with a Merc 90 jet drive on it that I fully decked in and made a super skinny draft super stable base rig that will allow me to pole in to places that only have an inch and a half of water and get up on plane in 3 inches of water and can run in 1 inch of water. Still winning multiple tournaments a year doing exactly that and that's all thanks to that old 6k dollar tx16 tracker and sadly under powered 25 2stroker.
I think mixing the tungsten dust into resin would be the easiest method and just pour in layers so it doesn't melt the mold
Thinking about it briefly with no experience and education on the subject matter, however i have seen the jumping episode of samurai jack. These could be used to create the greatest qb of all time.
22:30 I was gonna like this video anyways, but this just made me do it right away
00:16 Elon Musk from Temu
Oh nah 💀
It’s water jet baby!
You are insane to think about putting the marble on a lathe! That’s a death machine.
I think it would’ve been even heavier if you filled the gaps with lead, rather than bismuth. Lead is ~11.4 grams per c^3, while bismuth is ~9.7 grams per cm^3.
Don't worry, Daniel, you DO have the world's heaviest balls.
Great job on the football! I really enjoyed the video!
This is what the NFL should have given the Patriots after Deflate-Gate.
