Nice quality Himalayan shepherds (Tibetian Mastiff , Gaddi dogs ) .. they are pure ..but nowadays some people called Chinese TM pure 😖 (although they are Hybrid and not pure ) In India , it is called Gaddi- Bhutia dogs 😻.. but they should not lift weight on dogs .. should keep horses or mules for load .. keeping weight on dogs make them strong ..but then they can’t able to chase or guard properly ..Thnx for Showing pure quality .. pls save them .. The best thing is they use dogs for carrying loads, it makes them strong and help the owners. I have also a Bhotiya (bhotekukur) since i live in Uttarkhand. Great video made my day

We wouldn’t call it nepalmastiff rather it is Bhote Kukur(Tibetan Dog when translated and mastiff was the name later given by the westerners) and it has been called so from the ancient times(simply Bhote Kukur)

Those Load seems quite heavy ....we never does it on our dogs (TM ) nor to Yaks and sheeps unless no options left .......and i understand these are harsh mountain terrain and most people are under poverty though ....

@@BikashRaiNepal bro bhote= sherpas , rai and gurungs who are all from the himalayan region , tibetan they hate that word and they get offended by it, anyway nice video, I think the people in the video are Gurungs cause their language seems quite familiar but cant hear them clearly, but as you know Gurung language also differs from region to region but don’t know the place

Why not raise a yak for milking and use it as a cargo when moving camp? Train and use Tibetan dogs just to be safe and control pets only.

But raising yak and raising sheep are two different things… yes yak is used as Himalayan caravan…
But everything is not suitable keeping together or else simply we can say that every shepherds are not capable enough to get/raise yak or mules/horses…
Shepherds often use sheep for carrying small loads… and sometimes the dogs as well…🙏❤️

This is the life of shepherds……
These dogs (Bhote Kukur) plays important role in guarding the sheep, alerts the approaching of strangers, predators around the shepherd’s tent…
Barks whole night to mark their presence and keep the predators away…
In some case some dogs brings back those sheep who lost their way back to the heard…
When there are multiple numbers of dogs, they work as a team, one guards the heard others chase away the predators….
They are the night watchman of the shepherds…

Sorry, taking dogs shouldn’t be an emergency but a commitment…. This time isn’t the time to get the pups…. Puppy season is mostly between December to March…

@@TravelFreakTF Yes, they do feed scraps of meat when they’re cutting or cooking meat. But, you have to remember that these people themselves hardly eat meat. Maybe just once or twice a month during special occasions etc and is shared by whole extended families. Besides, tibetan mastiffs are great hunters too so I’m sure when they’re not chained they probably go find their own food.
