iam a strong believer that this breed shouldnt go out of the himalayas, especially such good specimens, the outside world especially the show world has destroyed countless breeds both in terms of body and temperament, i respect this woman i read about her and respect her values and concern about the breed, but i firmly believe we need to protect this ancient breed of ours which was once pure throughout the himalayas. the admixture also needs to be reduced from the mongrels in the lower parts. i wish someone would have started a neutering programme for the mixed dogs

Well depends ! If you buy young pups, and you know how to bargain, you would get them at around Nrs 4000 to 8000. That would be around 40 to 80 US dollars. But if you are a foreigner trying to buy it, and if they are willing to sell, the prices are likely to go 10-20 times higher than that.

Bhotekukur is local name and TM is international western name..The dogs are same..

@@kanchenjungakennel-bhoteku9944 they are not the same breed Tibetan Mastiffs are shorter, stalkier dogs. There are 3 different types of Tibetan mastiff, and the description given by researchers don't match with the description of bhote kukur. They look similar. But are completely different breed.

They are ferocious guardian dogs and will not hesitate..Their teeths sink in like a knife in butter..We have to maintain some space considering the length of chain..It's a huge risk seeing these dogs, as there is a chance of them breaking chain..These dogs are not like other breeds.
