That's bankhar you can see them in popular game called ghost of tshushima the Mongols use them as attack dogs in game just like they did few centuries ago
The main diffrence is the Mongols still keep them as working dogs and don't have a "show" breed. Every dog is a national symbol of pride so they never needed to have show breed. Generally the working dogs are larger and stronger as they are used for flock herding. Very similar to other Asian and Caucasian flock herders. The dogs are smaller than some breeds of Tibetan mastiffs, but it has to so with some show lines being bred for size at then cost of the health of them dogs. Working line Tibetan mastiffs are around 110lbs-150lbs. Mongolian mastiffs are around 130lbs-170lbs depending on the sex and individual dog.
Bankhar is smaller, Tibetan mastiffs tend to be more square and stockier, shorter body as they are in the mountains, bankhars are leaner, longer body as they are roaming plains, for an untrained eyes they do look alike
All the mastiffs in Asia look the same and probably are just variations of the same breed. Honestly from Mongolia to Turkey and everywhere in between, the dogs look almost the exact same.
As a puppy he is placed in the barn with the livestock so he thinks he's one of them. He will therefore protect the herd (pack). Although he thinks he's one of the herd he must feel lonely for when the wolf comes he is the only one fighting the wolf!
NOT FOR WEAK PERSON

The protective nature of these dogs is a beautiful thing to witness.
Havnt been best friends for over 30,000 years for nothing.
Bankhar dogs are very good LSG dogs. They are brave and not afraid of predators. I hope I can have a Bankhar dog.
They all are Same breed dude .. ..only the fur , weights , the colors bit different...
all from same ancestors who you find in Tibet .

Thank you, I liked this breed. This type of exterior has disappeared among the shepherd dogs of Central Asia.

What's the difference between this and Tibet Mastiff. They have the same looks. Many Himalayan aboriginal dogs look similar.
Bankhar smaller and has fewer types

Neck, muzzle, coat length, and thickness. Plus I'm pretty positive these aren't quite the size of the Tibetan.
