Greetz from germany. I own a 2021 MAVERICK X3 XRS MAX TURBO RR SMART SHOXS and had a problem to reset the service. Some models of the first series of production had a software problem and it's in need an upgrade of the software at the authorized dealer. On the other side, when was the time for first change of oil?! The German manual show of a first service and change of engine oil at 1800mls, that means 3000km on the odo. My authorized dealer told me for first safety change the oil at 650mls or 1000km and I thought that makes sense.
Nice and that's awful about the reset problem they came with. The dealer should be able to take care of the software easily. For the first service, it makes sense to do it sooner at 1000km because after breaking these machines in they due release a bit of metallic shavings. On my manual it sugested first service at 500miles if riding hard or 1000 miles if casual riding.
@@GoTimeUTV that's the best you can do, for your X3 and for you. Most peeps unknown about a break in period and "put the pedal to the metal". Often morons told stupid like "break in, like you drove it". The ROTAX ACE 900 engine is a machine with heart and soul, handle it like this and it' s payback time. Here in germany a XRS MAX TURBO RR SMART SHOXS with street legal license costs over 42.000 bucks and that's lot of money for me. To safe the worth of them all means doing often service and clean up the clutches and driveline, change earlier the oils as the manual told and we all on a safer side.
@@GoTimeUTV oh yes, the top of the line model and trust me, this rare (here in germany the residents thinks it's a Alien-Mars-Rover) machine runs so perfectly with the smart shoxs system, it's a dream. I take care about the engine, transmission and belt drive. Spent time to warm up the engine and the belt drive. This little world of being perfectly safe my day and the lifetime of the "machine".

I'm not familiar with the maverick trail but have you tried this method? To erase the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED message, proceed as follows: 1. Select PARK. 2. Turn ignition switch to ON. Do NOT start engine. 3. Set the cluster to odometer display. 4. Press SET button on the multifunction gauge and keep it pressed until step 6. 5. Switch the high beam On-Off three times rapidly. 6. Turn ignition switch to OFF.

😅 luckly, it's pretty easy I had to reset one from a 2019 x3 and it was a little bit more complicated

How many miles did you do your first oil change?

What maintenance is needed when it shows maintenance required.
If it hasn't had a recent oil change i would change both differential and engine oil and replace the air filter.

Usually its a warning for a malfunction. It should display what to check. Sometimes it tells you too "check smart lok" for example
