On another note: i learned recently that the rate of wife discard by men in the US was so severe that abandoned elder women overloaded the government institutions in the 20th century.
These abandoned women had worked in the home their entire lives, and had no ability or even understanding of how to earn money in the job market. They were treated like human waste after their usefulness was done.
This was a major reason for the implementation of Social Security.
When m3n accuse us of being too casual about ending marriage, they're projecting.

To the Kenyan woman: For the average man, it is much more expensive to hire a prostitute, maid, cook, and female therapist than to marry a woman.
Most of these men treat women less than street hookers. Men expect sex, cooking, cleaning, counseling, and half of the bills paid from women. Let’s be honest here. It’s better for a woman to be on her own in order to be successful and happy.

It’s called invisible labor for a reason, they don’t “see” it. Except ,they do, they just “don’t care about it as much as women do”. So dishes can sit in the sink for 2-3 nights, sheets can stay on the bed for months, groceries can mold, it’s not their fault we are so picky 🫠.
But hey… he isn’t “forcing” you to cook, clean, give the 🍪… he is just being honest (and keeping true to his standards) by saying “if you don’t, I’ll find someone who does”. He is such a good man☺️

I saw this news today, a woman got ⚰ by her husband. They have been married for FIVE MONTHS. Her name was Angie Diaz, her husband didn't just end her, he decappitated her. The only thing I can think of worse than that is if your hysband end you AND your children as well. Easy enough to find cases of hysband ending his entire family.

I am married. I am a working wife. We get a close to being equal as we possibly can. My husband is very liberal and matches me perfectly. I never wanted to get married until I met him. He STILL benefits more from marriage than me. Even without children, he gets benefited in work/promotions for being a family man, I get held back. He is given respect for having a wife, I am often reduced to being Mrs. London and not a person, especially in how companies treat us in paperwork. He corrects people all the time that my name is my first name, not Mrs. London. He actively tries to negate the negative effects of me, because he KNOWS it benefits him more.
He also knows I, as the breadwinner, can walk away at any moment. He knows I've walked away from other relationships when men in them took more than they gave because I dislike inequality. He puts in effort because he knows he has to match my energy.

No matter how any person male or female attempts to frame the institution of marriage - as a woman, it simply does not make sense to me as an equation. It is not equal, there are so many inherent expectations by sees prejudice against the woman in the relationship and she will forever be expected to undertake a nurturing mother. And this goes entirely against romance or an erotic relationship between two consenting adults because men cannot integrate their exceptionally limited and narrow perspective of what women are which is either a Madonna or a whore and never. Both. It just - is not - worth it.

3:36 Finally a guy speaking on this issue! It's hard to find a marriable person.
Many men only marry to not lose the woman. Previously, the woman was in supply as a girlfriend. Now, marriage becomes a condition to keep the woman in supply, otherwise a breakup will happen. But the guy is still insecure about marriage. All he wants is not to lose her.
Yet, not wanting to lose a woman is NOT enough to maintain a good marriage. Even wanting to spend every day for the rest of your life with this person is NOT enough to sustain a good marriage. Marriage consists of many legal, mental and daily responsibilities, involving every aspect of life, many of which are unforeseeable.
I don't see how the desire to being with a person is able to sustain a healthy marriage. It takes many practical considerations prior marriage and responsibilities post marriage to make it work. It is daunting and extremely challenging. Marriage is not happily ever after, it is a new chapter in life.

The last speech is the best part. It feels a bit strange that it ended up at the end, though I see how the video is stacked with evidence before a broader statement is proffered.
I also want to say that in this discussion there is a disconnect between the material use men are getting out of women in marriage, such as chores, childcare, and homemaking, and the emotional and sexual services men are getting in marriage... And then, once again, the legal and social cover that marriage brings to things when we talk about protection. One, I think there's a serious lack of connection in the discourse, because people would have to explore actual marriages on a continuum, and it would be crucial to have the worst laid out bare. This also, needfully, would come in the form of narration about both the relationship, and the communities they were conducted within. -Something few still in these circumstances would be willing, or able to provide. Which brings me to the second thing, which is that to explore the links between these areas, you'd need to really be able to catch and reflect the flow of micro-aggressions, and other power games. Even when relationships are abusive, even when the links have been meditated upon for over a decade, or talked over, after it's over, this is difficult, and often impossible (amnesia being one notable form of traumatic damage).
I think these areas do share space, uncomfortably intimate space at that. I think there are very few safe spaces to unpack those relationships, even in our own minds. Ultimately, this is where I believe that it is more valuable to listen to the advice from a knowing woman to not get married, on instinct, than it is to know why she made her choices the way she did, or how she came to her conclusions. This is one area, where I do not think we have the honesty, or discernment for a scientific approach. Instead, we have something more akin to the whispered witness after a genocide, where proof was obliterated wholesale, with every life that had it. Few are capable of speaking, and when they do, they tend to tell their stories, and we have been trained not to hear, not to listen, not to validate, and certainly, never to act upon what doesn't completely hold together, with proof, and seem to have the most immediate relevance for our lives. Why are we surprised, again and again, that our fears and hopes dictate what we are allowed to know about our relationships, from within them? Why are we surprised that the worth of our lives always lies on the thinnest thread?

Oooh this bald man right here? He can keep his mic. By the way, the etiquette is to credit every content creator, artist, musician, videographer etc. that you use in your content-- especially when you're essentially presenting it as your own theme for your own book, which you're promoting.
