See, his champion wasn't even one of his best units because while the throw was mostly the last fight, the entire run he was REALLY bad about robbing this champion of slay triggers unnecessarily.
I was so pogged for a run with best clan, and then this happened. I no longer pog, only weirdchamp. Alas, that train steward killing a boss has returned the pog to my face.

@@phamxuantung8743 as commenter above me said theres some strong combos. My most OP runs have been with stygian. Double sap incant stone with the champ that makes dmg spells cost nothing or armor incant stacking is amazing. You can also kill many strong units before they attack with strong spells.
Hey NL, remember if you have a trained steward early, play it on the top floor instead of middle as it gets around the daze curse and kills the gold unit. Great tip: you can keep stacking your daze card on the boss if you think it's going to be a hard fight then when it goes relentless he will have like 30 turns of daze and die easily, energy cost upgrade would have helped this a lot. But why on earth do you keep giving your back units the hp and armor..... unless the enemy have sweep which they didn't, this is pointless.... just give hp and armor to your tank units at the front, missing out on hundreds of damage to the boss.

Honestly, when it you made that opening move against Seraph at the end of the video, I wouldn't have blamed you at all if you'd save/quitted to redo it, since it's such a silly mistake and you realized it pretty much right when you made it. That said, I really respect that you always let your mistakes doom your runs when you play games like this, no matter what the mistake is and no matter how much time you've invested into it.

Oofs in the chat for stygian/awoken? Covenant rank 20 was EZ PZ for me because of a sweet stygian/awoken build; the random event where you can dupe up to 5 cards remains overpowered as hell especially if you have an upgraded mass heal/damage card. Embrace the spells, NL!
For all the times NL makes a thousands misplays in a row, loses, and then goes "I played pretty well but just got bad luck"... At least this time he realized that he's the one who messed it up.
Gotta be honest. If you just did the back to main menu restart on turn 1 like that in the most important fight after a colossal mistake with the chomper, I would not blame you.
When you have overflow units put them on the top floor so that when the gold fairy spawns there they can kill her. You want to burn out the daze early. But you always put your random extra train stewards/dregs/etc on the middle floor and keep losing out on gold.
NL my dude. If you need time to prep, don't put stuff on the bottom. Why put the awoken unit on the bottom floor of that 2nd fight? It's not going to survive with +4 damage on each unit. You lose next to nothing (other than score) by placing it on the second floor instead and setting up for the next turn. Edit: He realized! Let's go. Probably could have pulled off the Daedelus win on the first run if you went unit upgrades first. Spell upgrades are good, but they only matter if you have the spell in hand. Monsters are always on the field once played, so unit upgrades are very important to get more consistent turns.
I notice NL pays no attention to Inferno. Inferno is like Dante, with holdover and a -1 cost upgrade, it will make an easy win for the rest of the run... This would have been a perfect run for inferno with a big Demon fiend and slay trigger dependent champion. since you do have to abandon the bottom floor for Inferno.
Just in case you don't know, you can restart fights. Like "oh dude i had the idea but i played all my cards in a totally wrong order", maybe you can play restart and do the fight again.
It's true, Tethys isn't very good. Having Coldcaelia or Cilophyte behind The Sentient is almost always better for the frostbite/spell damage builds respectively.
I loved this run. Because not only did you actually play the train stewards after they were viable but also because of the inevitable throw of the whole run. Wait did you throw the run just to prove that train stewards are not ever viable? Was that the Galaxy brain play?
I don't understand what happened at 25:28 Why did Adaptive Mutation secure a kill there? e: and while we're at it, what happened at 32:33, why did killing that one unit cause the Prince to not get the armor ? Wasn't he slaying another unit anyway?
Second one bit more complex: spiky railbeater survives the hits from enemies, his spikes kills the one weak enemy (who buffs in death another one). He gets a hit in but then dies to enemy spikes. His hit moves front enemy to back thus champ hitting the big enemy and not getting a slay

9:30 as soon as all these deal 1 damage on death units gone up a floor and the glimmer popped up, the champion had already met his inescapable fate
There's a lot to say about the last fight, but in the first run I don't know why you'd cut regens first when 2 good Awoken tanks scale by healing.

You should try more of the minus Mana on attack spells champion. With more draw and building the right deck it can be crazy powerful.
When I think 1 yard line I think of a narrow loss this was more like reaching the 1 yard line the fumbling backwards 90 yards.
