Myself (Dan Hendriksen PGA Pro), Lester Barnes (Scratch Handicap), Will Farley (Pro) and Lee Whittaker (13 Handicap) have been invited to play and stay at the wonderful Manor & Ashbury Hotels near Okehampton, Devon in South West England.
With 99 holes of golf, all on one site, the Ashbury is accredited as the ninth largest golf resort in the world. No other English golf course provides a better combination of stunning scenery and exceptional challenge than the acclaimed Ashbury Golf Resort. Located in the heart of one of the most captivating areas of the Southwest, the hotel delivers spectacular views of Dartmoor across the rolling Devon countryside towards Exmoor.
In this vlog we will be playing Beeches course which is a course that plays just under 6000 yards and is a par 68. Lester and Lee have decided to take on the Pro's Myself and Wilbur in a fourball better ball match play event.

Guys. Absolutely brilliant. If you can ever beat this video I’ll buy a round of drinks. The classic marriage joke. Go up the left..or right. There’s only two ways of a shot going that far right. A shank and Leeing it. Obviously followed by Lee proving it. Then, Lee’s on the green…somehow ..played from a different planet. Just properly funny. Four mates playing serious golf with humour. And for us hackers to see you guys can do it like us sometimes. Absolutely brilliant. The best golf on any channel 👍👍

The number four hole is some of the most entertaining golf I’ve ever seen. By my count, when the par four hole was halved, a grand total of 20 shots had been hit by two Pro’s, a scratch amateur, and a professional club fitter. In addition, at least six trees and two cart paths were hit in the process. This gives the rest of us some hope. Thanks guys, that was something special.

Those tee shots off the fourth 😂 I wondered what happened when today was 38 minutes! Lot of looking for gaps in the trees so far! Very different challenges then on your Cornwall Tour!

Another beautiful course. Narrow fairways certainly putting pressure on everyone. Great fun to watch, even the cack-handed shots from Lester, that normally make me cringe.

Good video comments about the 6th green being the lowest point, I think that was the opening 3 drives on the 4th...a fiendishly difficult hole with a sloping fairway and trees it’s nice to hear others imitating woodpeckers. Good idea of Will to hit a tree iron on the last!

Love it. Hole 4 very much like a round when I play....apart from you still managed bogeys, whereas mine would be at least a double. Some great recovery shots.

This has to be the longest episode you’ve filmed. 17 minutes for the first hole 😀. You can see why Bernie brought his safari hat. Unbelievable par by Lee on the hole where he went two miles to the right with his tee shot.
Thank you Dan, Will, Lester and Lee for the way everyone played the 4th and 5th holes. Remember them, because that is a game I am familiar with, and I want us all to have something we can share. .....you should see what happens when you hit one of Scotland's ancient "standing stones" from about 30 yards. It seemed to treble in velocity on the rebound. I'm still traumatized by that experience.

I hate to say this guys, but occasionally, just occasionally, it’s refreshing to see the Pro’s struggle off the tee (Until Wilbur remembered he can hit his 3 iron further than most of us hit driver)😀

What an awful 3 holes of golf. You boys remind me of a couple of mates I play with occasionally, they always play “military” golf, left then right then left again. It’s hilarious as you boys were today. Slow play but funny as hell. Here’s hoping tomorrow is much better.

For the 10 years I have been visiting Ashbury I always struggle on the 4th hole on Beeches. And I most likely will again in July 🤣🤦♂️
