I went to Africa and saved a baby like this , she is now 24yrs old and is been through collage, don't ever give up on a baby . Dear little baby have many infections but we beat them all she is a lovely person and all grown up, through much prayer of many people .I never put gloves on when I had her in my arms .
that mustve been gut wrenching. especially in the 80s . im sorry. God bless you, your friend and their family. no matter how long ago, that pain never dies. my uncle died in 86 to suicide. happiest person ever you thought. i realize hes been under ground now long enough to had lived his full life over 2xs now. im 44 so 18yrs older than he was. and i still feel like his favorite little girl in the world and im older than he was. he was 34 with 2 kids. i think of him way more than is natural . more than weekly. i sure am sorry
A beautiful well written movie it left a lump in my throat and a tear in my heart I enjoy any movie with sissy and the best supporting actor and actress ever
Such a hard working woman who fought for a decent life then with great compassion took on a child needing love n care which grew into a beautiful child the mother also with care and patients saw her child by being taken into the care of the Mother in charge of the child till her decision to go into Hospice such a lovely woman to have shown so much love dedication despite her own hardship
When suzan said "your telling me that Annie going to live?" Got me in tears. Its such a painful movie in so many parts of it. Especially the hospital scene with suzan her son and linda. When Linda going up the stairs and thanking suzan for letting her in her home got me crying 😢.
Such an emotional movie. Linda was is such a good nurse. So full of love in her heart. Enough for her grown son,Annie, and Annie biological mom, Linda. The nanny played a perfect part. All great actors to a heartbreaking story. I cried at the end when L8nda decided to go to hospice. The few short days she lived with Linda and her son, they made her feel at home and loved. Only time she ever felt that way. And Linda's own parents disowned her when she was pregnant with her son. The guy did finallybmarry her but couldn't stay, so they divorced when her son was young. Just an incredible lady. All of them where. And she couldn't have found a better nanny anywhere. Her son was a really good boy too.
Watching this again today after years.. The acting is excellent, & so well cast (SS is just brilliant in anything she does, Dame Plowright too!). Reminds me how hard a start some kids have. First saw the film when my own babies were little back in the 90's, the theme was so relevant in society then. My kids are adults now with their own careers in stage & screen - time literally flies. I'm going to get some tissues, finish the film, & probably spend the afternoon as an emotional wreck.
Do you all know the housekeeper was married to the one and only Laurence olivier, for almost 30 years til his death. and she dated the most handsome men in golden Hollywood time.,and she still with us.94,joan i love you.
Very good script. You really understand why things happen the way they happen and the motivation of the characters. The actress playing the birth mother does a great job at showing both a very hostile side and endearing side at the moments she lets her guard down. Great watch.
I watched this movie the first time with my mom when it was first aired on TV. My mom was a registered nurse. People were so nervous about HIV bsck then because there was so much confusion about it.
This is a beautiful story of a family so much love in their hearts and the babysitter was a special lady with love in her heart too. So glad Annie wasn’t sick with the H I V virus.
1/16/25 Joan Plowright passed away. Great actress. She also starred in Bringing Down The House in 2003 with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah. Funny movie.
Y couldn't everyone just stay this descent like they were in 1994? The cab waiting so patiently The doctor not giving up on a DNR dying patient The nurse adopting an unwanted child instead of throwing her in the system The teenage boy accepting and helping out all his guests And even the drug addict was sweet in the end and tried to help herself 😢 I'm just gonna cry... Where has this world gone to?? Anyway sweet movie❤
I have met Sissy Spacek I was in Post High a school for young adults with disabilities to learn life skills and how to work in the a workplace and it was me, my friend Richie and our teacher and we were working at Pet supplies plus and we were in the dog food section and we noticed a woman that had come into the section we were in and our teacher had a very nice conversation with her and later in the car back to the school our teacher told us who she was talking with because we both didn’t know her movies.
This picture broadens the mind it helps to think outside the box, the fact is that money don't always make the difference in people it's the mindset some for good, some of evil patience is virtue. Forgiveness keys. Love is exceptional most critical 😊 love you guys and give God a chance the devil is like a roaring lions seeking whom he may devour. Prayer without ceasing and ask God for guidance and protection from all evil.
I expected this to be the basic crude writing. I was surprised by how wrong I was. Beautiful. I didnt cry because I was sad but because I was happy. Death is apart of life. It doesn't have to be ugly if your people know real love. *Choose carefully who your family is even if Its just yourself. *
To watch such a deeper than any movie this has touched me in what Reality-is So compelling to say the least Sissy Spacek has given us movie watches this is one heck of realness like nuthin as deep as this movie has for me Deep love caring about each other Honesty really sets well deep caring gives Hope in such a level Strangers more loving-kindness than families themselves
Should also watch Like Dandelion Dust - it will move you to tears too. The quote i learned from the movie dialogue were : Biological Mother said : "I love you so much that i have to let your go.." The Foster Mother said, "I love you so much that I cannot let you go.."
When Linda said "You're gonna have a great life, live it for me." I lost it. Wish they still made movies like this. Annie was adorable.
Me too love these wholesome movies
they still do...

I've never heard of this movie. Never will forget it has left me in tears. Great actors. I lost a classmate to AIDS back in the late 80s.
So sad. My brother and his partner died of AIDS in the mid 90's.
That's so sad! 😢😢😢

An incredible movie with impeccable acting by all! I loved this movie when I first saw it and I’m so glad I found it!
What a tearjerker. Excellent actors and beautiful theme music.👏👏👏
Exactly
Another good story is The Color of Love with Gena Rowlands.
That was a great movie. It just broke my heart and brought back so many memories of all my friends who lost their lives to this horrible disease.
Beautiful story shed many tears through out the movie. Anna In Ohio
*What a sad emotional movie. It needs a part two, to see how Annie grew and achieved her dreams visited her Mother's grave etc!*
Wow this movie is so good i thought i had seen every old lifetime movie worth watching. Cried a lot and i dont do that with movies. So good
When suzan said "your telling me that Annie going to live?" Got me in tears. Its such a painful movie in so many parts of it. Especially the hospital scene with suzan her son and linda. When Linda going up the stairs and thanking suzan for letting her in her home got me crying 😢.
Great performances by all the actors. I loved this movie although it made me cry.
That was beautiful. I am crying.😢
It was so sad, but it was so happy. I would love to see a second parthow Annie grew up. God bless them all.❤❤❤😊❤❤❤
A roller coaster of emotions in this movie. So sad in so many ways, Thank you for uploading

I thought she looks familiar. Good story

A beautiful story about what makes a good mother❤
Please note, the babysitter is the British actress Joan Plowright, not the American, Joan Fontaine.
English.
And a Dame aswell 😊

Joan Fontaine. Sissy Spacek. Mary Louse Parker. Gems of the acting world. Great movie.
