    The iFi gear is really underrated, and I don't really know why. Now they have audio gear at pretty much every price level and size. I recently got to try the SMSL D400 Pro and its one of the best DACs I have heard, I'll have to try the SMSL SU-X.

      Hi, I have the Fiio K19 and have had the DX9 for a few days. I liked the dx9 for its analogue tone and it is also beautiful from a construction point of view, but personally I prefer the k19 because a more neutral and incisive presentation is more to my taste. I would like to ask you if in your experience you found them with a good soundstage, because from this point of view I found them quite flat, I used them with an hd490 pro whereas from this point of view I found a l aune s9c better. and what headphones did you use them with?

      @@BluesMan90 I liked the K19 more on Rock and Metal genre's as it had a little more punch and slam with its THX AAA 788+ amp section. I only returned the K19 because the optical connection was having issues cutting out when gaming and watching movies. It also got pretty hot in the Horizontal position. I'd still recommend the K19 for a desktop AIO but I'm happy with the DX9 as my desktop AIO. It's much nicer looking first off, and I have zero technical issues when gaming and watching movies. As far as Soundstage goes I think they are pretty equal. I've found that a headphone is what gives you the Soundstage stuff more than the gear. I have a Hifiman HE1000 Stealth V4 and it has some nice Soundstage with music and gaming. My other main headphone is the ZMF Atrium which I mainly use with Tube Amps because they give the Atrium a little more punch and slam, better Bass. Tbh, this hobby is all about experimenting and trying to find that synergy that YOU like. Not what others like or what some measurements' graphs and charts try to tell you what you should like and what's better. It's all subjective and everyone's hearing is different. Another headphone I have and like is the Senn HD560s. It's a great value and is as good as anything in that HD600/650/6XX lineup

      @@BluesMan90 I like the K19 for Hard Rock and Metal as the THX AAA 788+ Amp portion brought some nice slam to the music. I only returned it because the optical connection was having issues cutting out during gaming and movies. It also go hot in the horizontal position. I'd still recommend it for music on a desktop using USB. Maybe it was just a bad unit wit the Optical or something in th setting could fix it. I couldn't be bothered as the DX9 does gaming movies and music excellent. It's also great as a Pre out to my Monitor speakers and looks cool! lol. As far as soundstage goes... I'd say that's more of a headphone thing than gear giving you that effect. I've got a HIFIMAN HE1000SE V4 and it has nice Soundstage. Look into the HD800s if you really value soundstage. My other main headphone is the ZMF Atrium(Stabilized) and I use it mainly with Tube Amps that give it a little more punch and slam, better Bass type qualities. It's a great all rounder HP. Also the Senn HD 560s is a great Bang for the Buck HP that is basically in that same quality if an HD600/650/6XX but with better Bass. tbh... this HP hobby is all about experimenting and finding that synergy that YOU like! Not what others say or what some Measurements, Charts and Graphs say you should like. It's all Subjective. I play guitar and I'm a tone chaser with my amps. I let my ears decide when I'm happy with the tones. Same with my gear and headphones. I don't pay attention to that Subjective Sh!t. This HP can drive you mad as it is a vicious circle. At some point you need to say... OK... this sounds good. I'm DONE searching! At least for a little while. Now I can just enjoy my Gear and Headphones. If you keep always looking for the next best thing you'

      i would assume either brickwall or FL4 minimum phase fast roll off with the fast roll-off so the sound doesn’t linger as much for more precision. I don’t think it makes that big of a difference but logically speaking probably cleanest and quickest sound

    If Im using an IEM that not really power hungry, what's the difference between using these desktop DACs and a dongle DAC like Fiio KA17?

    • @ryanhostudio
      @ryanhostudio  หลายเดือนก่อน

      quality of dac amp can effect the detail and soundstage, there are really good dongle dacs though that close the gap on sound quality like the ifi go bar kensei. Power is a pretty easy metric to meet for iem

    Fiio k11 super clean neutral ref sound. We need soundblaster to give us this level plus surround k11 and ft3s tears of the kingdom sounds like a different game. Re2 remake dolby atmos again sounds amazing on a fiio set up and netflix in atmos or spatial ambeo k11 is very airy and wide and true sounding, topings sound a bit thin and boring and slightly coloured.. I need this plus soundblaster sxfi 7.1 then I'm happy

      The fiio k11 looks really good I asked Fiio if I could check it out but they already had enough reviews on it so didnt get a chance. If you were playing on PC with fiio k11 you could use dolby atmos or spatial audio pc software but since your playing on switch its not available :[

      @@ryanhostudio yes that's exactly what I'm doing I have dolby atmos app but sb 7.1 and sxfi are more flexible as tou can set the level of suround whitch In turn also sets the distance of the virtual speakers as the surround is % age basd from zero to 100 a low setting or off is very direct and very 7.1 a higher setting say 60% is very 3d and more distanced darker as tho speakers in a room like dolby atmos I'm a big fan of good surround sound also some games don't play nice with atmos but ate fine with soundblaster as it just sees them as a 7.1 speaker output it's very flexible.... iv been testing k11 in stereo and atmos and netflix ambeo spatial and in game 3d headphones settings like firtnite etc and it really is very very good.
