Disappointing Hinderer has not given us any of the promised handle inserts. It is what makes it the "modular platform". What did RHK do instead. Make them for the older XM model. I know sales have been slow for the MP and until they deliver on the promised add on parts I have a feeling they will stay that way.

Hinderer promised backspacers for the MP-1, but never delivered any. Instead choosing to make them for the older XM series. I just sold my MP-1 due to this. It is a ok knife but the modular backspacer system never materialized. The only thing I can think is that they promised these to help sell the knife. Basically a lie as far as I can tell. Thanks Rick...

A little more attractive, yet less functional than the G10 version. Better knife for collectors of good looking knives, like myself.

it feels even better in hand (more secure) than the xm18

cyphersuit1 I'll have to get my hands on one and see how it feels. Thanks for letting me know it seems to hold better than the g10/ti combo on the xm18's for you.

My MP-1 opens Okay using the flipper, a little tight.
There is no way I can open it using the thumb studs.
Do you experience the same issue? Will it break in over time?

jeremy1517 I have the same problem. It flips fine but the detent is so strong it hurts my fingers to flip with thumb studs. I think this guy can flip anything so it might not bother him. Probably has insanely strong hands.

jeremy1517 After three weeks of breaking in this knife I have to say that it is one of the smoothest Knives I own! I can actually use the thumb studs. It still is just a little painful but not really a problem. I’m sure this will only get better with time. The flipping action is just outstanding for a knife on washers. Perfect detent. When you give these Knives a chance they’re really amazing! I am tracking down a 3” XM slicer non flipper. Hopefully I can buy it from USA made blades.
