So question does that panel behind the rear seat just unbolt I have a 73 super with auto stick that I need to get the system working again would make life so much easier
Hello, I have a ‘69 VW Beetle with Autostick. It has a solex 30 pict 2, and a Bosch style 009 (non vacuum advance ) distributor. It has the typical flat spot at idle, and I want to get it back to OEM. I was wondering: - what carb are you using? - what distributor are you using? -I noticed you have two lines coming off the carb- one going to the clutch servo, one going to the distributor. I’m wanting to do the same thing, but I don’t know which carb you’re using. My solex 30 pict 2 only has one port (that I’m aware of ).
You audio explanation is very good but the video is confusing. The gas line is blocking what your doing. Not everyone is willing to cut a whole under the back seat.
Thank you so much for sharing, it’s priceless
Reminds me of a spring brake chamber on an Air Brake truck. Simple but elegant 🔧 thanks for sharing
Awesome job on explaining the autostick!👍
Thank you
So cool. I'm doing the same at moment. I can't go from 1 to 2 without pushing the gear stick in before I pull down to 2. Lots of fun👍🇦🇺
You need to adjust the contact distance in the shift lever.
@@johnhazel591 thanks mate. I worked out I had the shifter in backwards🙄
The small vacuum hose determines how quickly the clutch engages.

The Autostick uses a carb and distributor unique to that setup. You need to get rid of that 009 bullshit and find the correct distributor - and carb.
good info - just got mine running , but dies when I put it in reverse, any ideas? vacuum- electrical??
