Over the past 10 days I been doing a lot of testing on the Dragino LPS8 as the transfer of packets from LPS8 to Helium has been inconsistent. Just as I was to make a follow up video the packet transfer pretty much stopped and I am trying to figure out why. And then I have a day job :-)
Thank you, this was very helpful. By chance, are there any updates or guidance on how to complete the setup and fund the wallet? The docs on the helium site are confusing. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. You are correct I did leave it incomplete and there have been so many changes that it did not make sense to continue. However now that "Data only" hotspots / gateways are on the blockchain it would be beneficial. I will give it some thought but dont want to make false promises.

I am not sure but believe Yes. The example would be having a data only hotspot to give better coverage in a building. For now data only hotspots are not seen as active / not active on the blockchain so it would be ok. Once we pass Milestone 4 then there will be guides I am sure. I still in my opinion believe it will be ok.
The data only hotspot / LPS8 will take a lot of data to become profitable. For me it was more about testing and understanding. In the future with roaming agreements I suppose it will become profitable.
If you dont have a full hotspot yet and want to learn by doing Lora related things then yes. Later on after Milestone 4 you will earn with this hotspot / gateway when other devices and your own send data through it so overall yes. That being said it is my opinion.

good evening, i keep getting the "your connection is not privare" message and it asks for a username and password every time i put in the dragino ip. any work around?
That is strange, I always got a prompt to type in user = root and password = dragino until I changed the password. If you go to the System - General menu you can change your password "YourLPS8IP":8000/cgi-bin/system-general.has

@@balticwave_iot Intermittently, though I just checked and it looks like they're ready for us to onboard our lite hotspots! Making my notes and about to try to go through the process. Glad I bought some HNT so I can cover the fees
@Bobcat Wolfenstein, one guidance step. When you do the command bellow it works when both -owner and -buyer wallet addresses are the same. I tried it with -buyer being different from -owner and it did not work. Example: helium_gateway add -owner 13bjZai9xxx_QHyZyPAc --payer 13bjZai9xxx_QHyZyPAc From the output of the above take the "txn" and use it in the helium-wallet hotspots add and once verified the helium-wallet hotspots add "------" --commit Hope this helps for now.

This will most probably never earn any money. Just some money for the guys who sell overpriced hardware for this.

how does it do compared to Bobcat miner 300?
Hope you got your answer as this is a Data only gateway. You get no Proof of Coverage earning and will only earn on Data Packet transfer.

Seems you hotspot is now offline
3 weeks ago it was, i was away and a remote power cycle did not bring it back up. It needed the latest firmware and gateway-rs software upgraded.
I believe my dragino is set up and ready to roll, I have created my cli wallet. How do I connect the dragino to my wallet?
