it had managed to improve a lot for the 2005 season, but sadly the death of michael park just killed the team's momentum, and then peugeot exited the sport leaving the 307 an abandoned project
Revenger 210 Peugeot made mistake to change to Pirelli’s tires for 2005. Michelin was much better tire compound that year. In one podcast Grönholm said that new Pirelli’s were 0,5 sec slower in 1km than old Michelins
It wasn't though, that's the point... the 206 was long in the tooth come 2003, hence why they changed to the 307cc... it was faster than the 206, but the gearbox was terrible.
The last great season in WRC. (1997 - 2004) was a great time for rally fans, the sport grew quite a lot in popularity
Solberg actually had a good season with more points and wins than in 2003, despite having tough opponents.
Watching the multiple interviews about the gears in the peugot made me laugh. "I had three gears". "I had 1 gear" -"which one?" "Three". Poor guy.
Man that was a cool looking Lancer.
Marcus gronholm always says I am fed up with this car

@@oscarsunden3764 Is it worse that in 2001?
@@drybones7475 Maybe.🤔😏
A very problematic season for peugeot
And i like the peugeot 307 wrc
The Peugeot 307 got even the 4 speed gearbox In WRC 4: The Official Game of the FIA World Rally Championship in PS2 from 2004.
Martin and Solberg should have won more championships.
Why did Peugeot go for a four speed transmission? That was state of the art in rallying in the sixties?!?!
They only went with that due to the added acceleration
The plan was to make the drivers lose less time changing gears, but that didn't work and had the opposite effect.

I dont understand why Peugeot went from a small compact 206 to a big long 307!🤔

Kalle Rovanperä will.
@@j.s.p keep dreaming

206 was better
yeah, this WRC 307 was a meme car, on par with the 2015 Honda Mclaren
Yep an R.I.P Burns and Park
