      I can't agree with you about running ads on break-even for 6-24months... Everyone understands it would be awesome in the long run, but how could you do that without external funding? I would be homeless after 2 months of running business without any profit :D and if you get tons of new orders everyday, you can't do anything else to get money for your bills etc or even need to hire employees to help you out with packing/shipping. You cant say "wait 2 years and you will get your paycheck" :D

      Not everyone can do it Arnas and I'm not advising anyone go bankrupt but from a Facebook ads standpoint this would be optimal. Remember that most ecommerce businesses will generate repeat purchases pretty quickly. So if you are break even on initial customer acquisition, you won't be break even on your entire business - you'll have profit coming from repeat purchases and potential other channels.

    Your analysis is spot on. For me, an advertising model that helps me break even has great potentials for profiting with up scaling the business by leveraging on fixed costs, thereby decreasing the average cost spent per order. Then, we can say ads are apparently an investment.

    Hi Ben I really like your content, it's the best Ads content on youtube. but please don't speed your videos or don't speed them that much, it's really causing anxiety (10+ min videos) especially for someone who isn't English Native, I tried to run it on 0.75 but it has a delay so you may speed them on 1.25 when editing so 0.75 will be the normal speed. or you may name the points and use on-screen text when heading to a new point to make it more remarkable.
    I know you may find it odd but it will be much better if you considered that.

    I'm not following the beginning part. If ROAS = revenue/ad spend, how is a $25 profit breaking even...? Isn't the cost of goods from the manufacturer baked into the cost of the product? Math is not my strong suit, so I'd appreciate an explanation!

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chiara, sure :)
      To calculate what your break even point you just need to deduct the cost of goods from your sales price. That number is your break even cost per purchase on Facebook. Hope that helps

    Hi Ben. Thanks once again this for your video. You got me thinking today... At the end of this video you suggested to run ads on a product page with a promotion and to switch the promotion every month or so to avoid ad fatigue, right? In your other videos you suggest to not make too many changes in the campaigns so that the learning phase does not restart. So what would be the best way to do taht? Is it running separate campaigns every month, or running different ad sets for every promotion in the same campaign, or even simply different ads that are paused at the end of the promotion in the same ad set? Or maybe keep one ad and update it at each promotion? Thanks for the insight!

    Hey Ben,
    Do you have any tips on how to make an evergreen ad / campaign?
    When I start a new LAL conversion ad/campaign they work well for 2-4 days (ROAS: 3+), but the ROAS drops significantly after that.
    In one of your videos you said that this may happen, because the "warm audience" FB provides is used up after 2-4 days.
    Would it make sense for me to:
    Set up a Traffic/Brand campaign to show my LAL, so they become a warm audience? So I have a larger warm audience and my conversion campaigns are effective for a longer period of time.
    Or are there other tips you can give me on how to set up a well performing campaign that lasts longer than just a couple of days?

Please advise if it's better to choose random products from each category (Let's say I've got: Italian pans, French plates and American air friers) and promote the whole products abundancy all at once or would it be more efficient to advertise categories separately to the relevant audiences?

    Hey ben, big fan I watch all your videos and tell all my fellow marketer friends about your youtube page. I have a very good question for you. Here it goes. If your pixel has about 515 initiate checkouts, do you think that is sufficient data to make a Look-Alike Audience out of that specific event? The Facebook marketing support guy from the ads team told me that it was better off for me to make a lookalike audience of the content view pixel event ( about 3k in that) and when I did that it brought NOTHING. He was certain that you need at least 1000 activities in the pixel event to make a worthy look-alike audience. I think I disagree with his opinion. Lastly, if it was you would you make a Lookalike out of 970 Add to cart events or 515 initiate checkout events? OR....a customer LTV list + initiate checkout LAL in one ad set? sorry if this is too much. I appreciate your expert opinion.
