Stannis using the patented Show-Euron Greyjoy cheats to create a fleet, teleport to Dragonstone and capture Viserys and Daenerys.

I think Viserys would be treated fairly leniently. He may have been crowned, but his legitimacy is hurt by the fact it was a small ceremony in the Dragonstone sept, compared to being anointed by the High Septon at Baelor’s. Looking at real life history, Edgar Atheling briefly was positioned as King of the Anglo-Saxons between Hastings and William the Conqueror reaching London. In that case it was politically convenient to just pretend nothing happened.
Logically, if he’s not sent to the Wall, it would make sense to place him under Stannis’ tutelage.

    Great actuarial assessment of Viserys.
The Nights Watch isn't an option for the prince, even if he abdicates his claim to the Iron Throne. King Jaehaerys I sent the Warrior's Sons and the Stars & Swords to the Wall after disbanding the Faith Militant, only for those Oathbreakers to rebel, attempting to rule their castles at the Wall rather than serve the realm. Targaryen Loyalists would have absolutely attempted to restore King Viserys III to the Iron Throne.
Leaving Viserys in Stannis's custody is problematic because conspiracies to restore the mad prince would start popping up and Storm's End could find itself facing another siege. Also, it wouldn't be long until Stannis would execute Viserys for being a brat with outbursts of madness.
While keeping Viserys at court as a prisoner (the old Daemon II Blackfyre treatment) would demonstrate the king's mercy and serve as an example against future rebellions, it would be unwise due to the prevalence of Targaryen loyalists in the Crownlands. Daemon II was a Blackfyre and lacked any real supporters in the crownlands. His continued living was also a political obstacle for Bittersteel to crown Haegon as king while Daemon II still lived.
Sadly, execution was the best outcome for Robert, despite the blemish on his heroic image. Also, if Viserys were still alive in any way, it would undermine the political advantage of marrying Robert's future heir to Daenerys.

Well, if Robert is persuaded to not off them, then the most reasonable solution would be making Viserys a ward of Ned Stark (to remove him from the South) until he's old enough to join the Night's Watch. As a male heir, Viserys' claim would always be a problem. He can not marry and have children who would inherit his cause. Dany could be raised in King's Landing and then married off to Robert's son (to neutralise her claim; common practice throughout history) or made to become a septa or a silent sister to remove her from the game and prevent her having children. This is exactly the same things I would envision for Aegon and Rhaenys. There is no way on Earth that Elia would be allowed to take her children to Dorne to plot and stir up trouble. She would be sent back to Sunspear, but her children neutralised in other ways.

@EMIBwahahalalalallalahahahahha Do you mean Ollie? Was he actually sworn in or just living at the wall as a potential recruit? I don't think Robert would risk Viserys or Aegon having a chance to escape before taking vows. It would be safer to have Ned keep an eye on the boy for as long as possible and then send him when he can actually make his vows quickly.

Been ruminating on this scenario today and kind of had some ideas/expansion for what you laid out.
    1) Given that Robert and the North already had Daenerys living with them as a Ward, when it comes time for the Greyjoy Rebellion I'll take a shot in the dark and say that Robert send little Theon to Storm's End as a hostage under the Mannis.
    2) I don't think Sansa would've actually traveled to King's Landing, or rather I don't think Ned or Catelyn would've allowed her. Ned wanted to bring Bran along and Catelyn requested Arya go to "correct" her behavior. Much as Sansa would've begged, she wouldn't have had a real place given that she isn't engaged to the prince.
    3) You can probably reason that because Dany and Jon were close growing up, she is the one who convinces him to journey with them to King's Landing. I think Barristan Selmy takes an interest in Jon (because he's suspicious) and shocks everyone by offering to make the bastard his Squire.
I think the above 3 points leads to the domino effect with the War of 5 Kings. After Barristan is released from the Kingsguard by Joffrey I imagine he ends up declaring for Stannis during the actual war. The Greyjoys still raid the Northern coasts, but no Theon in the North means Winterfell never gets captured.
I think Ned has Jon and Arya flee from Kingslanding before shit really hits the fans.

Fun, but I would really like to expand on what would happen if Theon was warded with Jon Arryn. That is to say, some time in King's Landing (probably when he's older) , but mostly in the Vale after the Greyjoy rebellion. Imagine him falling for Mya Stone, or her getting taken in by him, then he later spends some time in King's Landing and brags about it and Robert gets wind of it. What if Cersei decides to betroth them to spite Robert? Or even Robert liking Theon because they're somewhat similar until he hears about Mya and then friction forms.

The wedding between Joffrey and Dany would be a breeding ground for chaos. The Martells and the Lannisters would feud because of the dead Elia & kids. Tyrells would try to plant seeds to grow into opportunities (Maybe have Margaery become one of Dany's ladies?). Edmure would just have a jolly good time and party. And Ned would struggle trying to keep them all from killing each other.

I can see them sending visery to the wall because it would be suicide for the loyalist to even try to rebel.
First, they would have to convince the entire wall to rebel that includes the ones who are not Targaryen Loyalists, who could just be cowards, criminals, or ex loyalists of other groups. I can see Benin Stark warning Ned ahead of time.
Second Then they would have to march through the North who not only will die for Ned Stark has some of the best warriors. They would get obliterated before a single house even considers siding with them.
Third even if they decide to rebel, there is less than a 1,000 people at the Wall which is not enough to march onto Winter fell let alone Westeros.
So I think it would be safe to send them.

Hmmm. I think one significant unmentioned element is what happens to the Mannis? Stannis having succeeded in his task means he has a better case to not only inherit the Stormlands but to marry someone other that Selyse. He has no major failure on his resume to piss Robert off. That has too many implications to ignore.
For one, assuming the incest occurs, Stannis is in a much more powerful position, Renly a weaker one and they are more likely to be willing to tell Robert. A Renly without the Stormlands has no route to power except his Brother’s good graces.
And as an aside, Marrying Dany to Joffrey is a solid through line, but honestly I find the idea of a Dany/Jon romance so off putting I will defile canon to stop it. This is coloured by the show which proclaimed an epic love without giving us a single reason to believe it had occurred and I really hated that. But also I find Jon a better character when his arc is not about romance. And his arc with Ygritte was not about the love story.

  • @genemaxwell4

I disagree on the no dragons line.
Irlio gave Dany those Dragons (i'm sure I butchered that name. The dude from Pentos) and he's a close ally of Varys. I could almost see Varys give the eggs to Dany, or arrange for another person who wants favor with the crown, give her the eggs.
Now how do they hatch? That's less clear, but we KNOW there's power in the blood of kings, so maybe Dany hatches them by accident during some civil unrest that's caused by one of the 3 chaos elements in Varys, Baelish, or Oberyn. Maybe Bobby B dies or Joffrey dies and during their funeral Dany, as a sign of respect, puts the eggs in the fire as a ceremonial thing and they hatch.
Idk, but I'm sure there's PLENTY of opportunities for the eggs to hatch. They are destined to after all so the magic WILL find a way to make it happen.
Man, this entire alternate history of the story has sooo many possibilities. This could be a series. Told from different POV's based on who we want to win.
We can do a Dany POV, a Jon POV, a Lannister POV, the list goes on

Aegon as a boy would have been the more dangerous potential claimant, so I can see Robert giving him to Ned as a hostage ward to keep out of sight in the North until he's old enough to join the Night's Watch. Rhaenys would either be betrothed to Robert's future heir (common way of dealing with old dynasty daughters) or made to become a septa or a silent sister. I don’t think it a likely outcome, but it happening would I reckon be a great idea. And it would be interesting to see who Cersei cheats on Robert with without her twin around.

What if Cersei is assinated what if Tyrion kills Cersei instead of Tywin?

    We're getting some Targaryen-style pancakes.
He condoned the deaths of the babies but he didn't do it himself so he probably wouldn't do it. Letting it slide is one thing, doing it himself he probably wouldn't. Not then anyway. By the time he got to the main series, probably not.
I usually go with the second pronunciation for Rhaella. But yeah, Viserys is... complicated. The Wall is probably the best choice but that might not be feasible. You'll need Ned's men, yeah, but it'd be tough either way. As for execution... and yeah, the Wall is a problem with all those loyalists there. Honestly, besides execution, and really, could just pin that on Tywin again, I'd probably say exile to Essos under constant guard. Or send him to the Dothraki Sea and see what happens.
I'd say marry Daenerys to a midway powerful minor lord. Ward to the North... it makes sense but I've seen too many fanfics with that and I hate the way they tend to work but yeah, this works. No Targaryen loyalists, no, definitely not. Marrying Robert's heir? Oh, now that's a good idea. That gives even more legitimacy to Robert's dynasty. I like this. Poor Cat, yeah.
Also, I'd say that Stannis might get to keep Storm's End since he brought the Targaryen kids to Robert. As for Theon... give him to Tywin, sure, why not.
My bets are on mostly canon shit until here, yeah, so Jon Arryn's dead. Myrcella and Robb or Myrcella and Bran I think will be the option. Robb is the most likely option, so George will like that. Jon and Dany being close... yeah, that works. I'm gonna say they keep platonic because yeah, no thanks, I've seen that too many times. Remind me not to tell you about all the Jon/Arya fics.
Jon going to King's Landing with Dany to be her Kingsguard... hmm. Not sure if that's the plan you're going with but I like that idea. As for Jon and Joffrey? Hmm, I do like that idea. I don't know about the Sansa part. Given Joffrey will end up acting like a bit of a twat to Dany who Sansa might be close to, she might see him for who he is sooner. Or she might go full jealous, either works.
Ah, Cersei. Good old Cersei, can always count on her to be a maniac. Oh, three Direwolves at King's Landing? Oh boy.
Big ass guest list, huh? Last time this many important people were in one place was Harrenhal. To answer the questions you ask about where this'll go, yes to Ned, friction is there, Oberyn will poison every Lannister, Barristan probably has an existential crisis, Mace will try to push Margaery towards Renly I'd imagine or try to have Dany killed somehow (or maybe Marge for Tommen, but yes, he tries), yes to Cersei assassinating Robert, probably no to Varys killing a lord, at least not yet because I imagine he'd wait a while, yes to Baelish because it's Baelish.
Oh yeah, no Wall which means the Others are going to kill everyone. Excellent. Where this'd go... ok, if I tried to go through it would take way too long so not gonna do it in this comment. I'd need to go to the Discord to go over this and even then it'd probably be too much.
Anyway, loved this vid. I'd love more what ifs but I get the algorithm and all. This was a lot of fun.

Nice what-if. (Drink every time is said “jokes aside 😂”) However… I think that they still being alive is still a liability. for sure viserys has to die as any male heir is always a risk no matter what oaths they swore (unless you are Eddard stark ofc). As for Danny well, idk. Yeah she might be spared as she is a woman and 8 months old hence does not have any memories of her family ruling compared to viserys (she only had the stories he and others told her about her family) who had 8 years to see his family rule and being dethroned. However at some point she will become a liability because who know what affection she might develop (with Jon or Robb or any other man) because she might flee with that person and might rally support to dethrone whoever is the king because even if she can’t technically be the queen her son can (hence why Robert wanted her dead in the main series). So yeah the only card Robert can deal is marry her to Joffrey and entrusting her to Ned. However if we stick with the whole Jon snow is aegon Targaryen… putting her with Ned is also a time bomb because both are targaryens and Ned knows that and should they fall in love then they both have a better claim and probably the north would back them when things go sour with the south. Robb can support them as he will still be warden of the north and can even guarantee a kingdom in the north by backing them in exchange for that promise. Although one must have the evidence to proof that Jon is a Targaryen instead of fully trusting the words of an invalid and a friend of the guy who’s this guy because he read it on a book… a book that could say anything and be written by anybody who has access to it (dam I hate the writing of the show).

I'd say because he's already 8, he would already be loyal to the Targaryan name and Robert didn't want to test which side that coin landed on as he got older. Daeny would have been seen as easier to control as a female in a medieval society compared to Vis who a large number would see as the rightful King
