LOVE THIS! I love that we’re now getting more official recordings of musicals and plays, makes seeing them so much easier for us international theatre lovers
Same! I was so lucky to get to see this in NYC but that was pretty much a once in a lifetime trip from New Zealand - so grateful to have more of these being filmed
@@patnstephen2having visited NYC, I envy the incredible quantity of entertainment you have on you doorstep! I’m only 1hr 20m out of London, but the shows are incredibly expensive and sell out so quickly.
@@Jcstuart1 Understood. Broadway is out of sight as far as ticket prices. We use TDF/TKTS almost exclusively, but even that has become pricey. But there are loads of small theatre companies/shows that we see all the time - and then there are amazing Cabaret performances almost every night somewhere.
Honestly wish they filmed the original cast. Don't get me wrong, I love this cast they are great performers too but just not the same. I'm just really a fan of Jessie and Kimiko's performances.
I've always wanted to see this musical, especially with Sara as Jenna -- so I'm so happy I can at least watch a professional recording! More accessible Broadway, please!
Obviously no one can have the same charm as the original actors and actresses, but this preview does get me excited for when the remake releases on Amazon Prime
This takes me back! Adelphi theatre London. In the interval friends started calling that the world was starting to shut down due to the pandemic. Got my friend on a plane back to Sweden and I went with friends to Crewe for a couple of days were I finally found a flight at Manchester airport. Anyway…….still one of my favorite musicals
most of the cast is the original cast, except for becky and dawn and more or less jenna but Sara Bareilles also made the songs and has played Jenna before but i kinda understand you too Jessie Mueller as Jenna is just irreplaceable
the doctor is a main character and other than him there isn't that much other really important character or in general none of the characters are really that important in general except for Jenna but like the way they are made is to be a companion or a threat, but yeah the OG cast is way to iconic to not have the feeling of "i wish this was filmed with them" (i forgot to mention ogie but he is in the same level of secondary character than the doctor, cal or jenna friends) @@star_baker
@@gelboy681 I’m mean what made Hamilton so special is that it was filmed with the original cast. People wouldn’t have been so interested if it wasn’t the people on the recording
Amazon Prime, Apple + and I believe on TH-cam as well for like 2.99. Idk what you get in Mexico as far as streaming but I hope you have access to one of these. It’s the next best thing to seeing it live-it is sooooo good!!!!
I love this musical, but this is very disappointing. Why is this so damn flat? Saw this on Broadway, and this opening number was so dynamic and engaging. This version isn’t. It’s boring and detached.
That's the point of live theatre, even Hamilton seems flat in the Disney recording. Live theatre thrives off energy and a screen pulls that energy out.@@808HawaiiLS
@@808HawaiiLSmaybe with a movie, yes, but this was written for the stage and performed for a live audience - the acting is different, the cameras are just there to try to capture what’s going on but it’s impossible to get the energy of being there live. Can personally attest to this.

This is the movie musical adaptation apparently but very close to what’s on broadway
I love that theater is becoming more accessable to people in small towns.
oh my goodness, Sara Bareilles's voice is just like sugar and butter. It just melts in your soul.
Don't forget the flour!
Saw on broadway in 2018 and have been in love with it ever since. Saw the stage capture last night and it was perfect. This show is pure magic.
I love that she did this for the sole purpose of making it into a movie. Adrienne Shelly would have been proud.
Pleaseeee, let this be in streaming platforms, pleaseeee!!!!
Congrats it is now!

I agree.
But at least we have Christopher Fitzgerald reprising his role as Oggie.
Agree Jessie is fabulous, but since Sara Bareilles wrote these terrific songs I’m so happy she gets to memorialize this on video.

I've seen it 5 times and I might have a problem 😅, but every serving just gets better. Sara has always been an absolute queen.

I really wish it was in theaters longer I probably will never make it to broadway to see but would love the experience it
Home release date: February 24, 2024
Fabulous show; and equally fabulous movie rendition.
3:55 Where'd the booths go, lol
That's so weird. Why?!
They had two days in front of an audience and two days for closeups. Maybe they moved the booths so they could put cameras there?
Looks amazing and its great to see it with sara bareilles
Just watched this in theaters. It was awesome!

i had NO CLUE that they did a recording of waitress 😭😭
Damn, that is some complex and intricate staging/choreography.
saw it Thursday and I’m seeing it again today! (Saturday)
Same!
Does anyone else hear the iPhone alarm at 1:51-1:52 ?
I swear who ever choreographed this has never seen a real pie being made in their entire lives
That was sooo good! Now I wanna go see this play!!! I can't wait...
Thankyou & God Bless!!
🙏🫶🏼👏❤
this looks so good
My new favorite show! I feel this in so many ways~
It's a great play. I saw it at the Muny in St. Louis.
I saw a bootleg with Shoshana as the main character. If this is coming to theatres, can’t wait to see it!!
I need them to release this regionally because I will be playing Ogie for the rest of my life LOL
But it is though. It is released nation wide
The rights to the musical itself, not a filmed version to watch@@mushroomnerd9772

I saw it and it was amazing. Having said that, the one thing, person, that would’ve made it even better is Alison Luff as Jenna.

It’s not live. You cannot get that same energy from a film compared to a live performance.
