Went to see waitress this afternoon in Manchester. I’ve been in a very cruel and abusive marriage for the last few years and finally had the courage to say I’ve had enough. Been so isolated but I so wanted to get back out and enjoy life on my own again despite feeling broken beyond belief. Had no idea the storyline for this musical but felt like I was watching my own life and for the first time in years I felt compassion for myself. What a beautiful voice Lucie has.
She has one of the best accents. It’s really hard to train yourself to sing with a southern accent. I’m FROM the south and I have to think about it. Welsh to American then add southern. THAT really is talent. And those growls! 👏

I said it before, this is the best version of this song I've heard so far, exceptional vocal, a natural heartfelt expression also in the context of the theatre which is where the song was written for. I said it before, this is the best version of this song I've heard so far, exceptional vocal, a natural heartfelt expression also in the context of the theatre which is where the song was written for. Apart from that even though I know nothing about Lucie Jones, she is just lovely, natural and gifted and totally present in this song. None of the others touches this version. All due respect to Sara Bareilles who is an amazing artist.
