Man, you make me want to go back! Been to Hangzhou only once in 2009, but took ten trips to China from then through 2018. Waiting for my ten year visa to be unsuspended, and for China to reopen to international travel. Then, I will plan a trip!

welcome to my part of town. did you visit Powerlong plaza? whenever i'm in HZ i'm usually not far from that mall. the Sheraton Grand Binjiang is a good hotel to book if you want to see the tidal bore from up high and not much blocking your view.

My last trip to Hangzhou was in 2001. Am sure it's been transformed from just being a historic place to a high-tech city! Hope to make a trip there again! In fact, hope to be able to visit China again when it reopens its borders for travels.. Haven't been to the northern parts (江北) of China... have only been to the souther parts of China (江南)

That villgae of Xixing looks interesting and I wonder if you can get boat trips along the canal? My wife's brother lives in Hangzhuo, but we haven't seen this village, although we had a great day out in Xiaoxing, where they make the wine used in Chinese cooking. These great videos make up in some way, for not being able to get to China for past 3 years.
There are many small villages like this near Hangzhou. Can't wait for border to open again!

You would think there are some good stories in China for western media to report on occasionally. But the western media literally just look for negative news or twist positive news into negative news about China. This is the problem with the free press. They only like free press when it reports on what they like. At least TH-camrs let people can see the other side of China.
This channel does the exact same thing. He twist news in the west so he compare it to how much better it is in China.
@@pbananaandfriends So what was the news that he twisted. He was just doing parody how the west report China news. Actually many of his information is pretty accurate. Western reporting always include a negative tone in all their reports about China. Western media are more political correctness entertainment than news like they called the mostly peaceful blacks rioting.

My wife is from Hangzhou and we are planning to move back at the end of the year. We haven't been back since before covid kicked off, so we are excited to see family again. It is hard to find expat or local groups for Hangzhou though. Just shooting my shot here, but if anyone knows any WeChat groups for Hangzhou, I'd appreciate it.
